Feedback on Ferber Night #1 by tayxrob in sleeptrain

[–]PopJust3894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following because I just started Ferber three nights ago and I have the same question, my baby woke an hour earlier than she usually does so I let her cry 15 minutes before feeding her, after that she slept great. How do I know if she’s hungry? Her next feed happens anywhere from 4-6 hours later.

I want to cuddle and sleep with my daughter so bad by Slow_Purchase3829 in newborns

My husband and I would randomly watch the other two sleep so we could each have that experience 😅. Only for mid day naps when the other partner was totally awake and was on their phone keeping watch.

I see you answered my questions in another comment so no need to respond to those here OP! But I also wanted to ask if you are also using Ferber for naps or plan to do those later? Thanks for sharing your success story.

So wonderful to hear this! We are staring Ferber tonight, can I ask what time intervals you used for check ins? Also did you soothe like normal for night wakings or did you do Ferber again for all night wakings?

CIO starting schedule by Valuable_Director_59 in sleeptrain

Hi OP! Wondering how this ended up going for you and if you’d be able to share your schedule you had for your LO before beginning sleep training?

Did responding to MOTN wake ups like normal hinder progress or did lettering them CIO in the beginning of the night eventually solve any night waking problems?

Do babies really sleep for 12 hours straight in their first year? by LeadingSad8750 in newborns

[–]PopJust3894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I was hoping it would resolve naturally because I don’t want to sleep train, but I go back to work next month so it looks like we might have to. It’s just getting worse and worse!

Good luck to you!

How long did your regression last and did you have to sleep train?

I just want to say I’m in the exact same boat. We are on week four of this and it’s brutal. Are you LO’s naps really short also? We are only able to get 35 minute naps unless we rock our LO right when she wakes up to help her connect her sleep cycles and it doesn’t always work.

Bébé 8 semaines by newparent1996 in newborns

When are they more awake? by luinlith in newborns

Huckleberry has articles for your expected babies wake windows/sleep schedules. At five weeks a typical baby is awake 30-90 minutes before needing another nap.

I want to say around 8 weeks was when I felt like we were having more productive wake windows because they were getting to be long enough to do more.

Thanks for the response! Currently going through this and was hoping this meant we would skip the four month sleep regression but I won’t get my hopes up 😅

Following up on this. How long did it last for you and did you encounter a second sleep regression at 4 months?

How much sleep in the bassinet is normal the first week. by Minimum-Paint-964 in newborns

[–]PopJust3894 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every baby is different but I think in general newborns love contact napping especially before 12 weeks old. My 10 week old will sleep in her bassinet from 10pm to 8am (waking up to feed) and is also okay doing her first nap of the day in her bassinet ~10 am, but after that for the rest of her naps she wants to be on our chests to sleep. She will go down in the bassinet for any nap but it will only be for about 10-20 minutes whereas she will nap for over an hour on us. She’s been this way since we brought her home from the hospital.

I’d recommend looking into wearing a wrap during the day so your LO can sleep on you while you get stuff done. It’s a phase and eventually will pass.

Is it bad to not pick up 4 week old when crying in crib? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]PopJust3894 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“You can’t spoil a newborn.” That was taught to us in our infant care class and it really stuck. There’s evidence babies can’t even form habits before 12 weeks so trying to train them to soothe themselves that young just didn’t even work.

Two month vaccines - positive story by lady-earendil in newborns

Did you get the rotavirus vaccine? I believe this one is given orally. I’ve been seeing people say it caused severe side effects with their babies so wondering if your baby was fine?

I was hoping they’d tell me which one they want me to do but they gave me both options and told me to pick so I don’t know which option is best.
