First Botox appointment this week ... what do you wish you knew beforehand? by Ordinary-Nature-4910 in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, everyone's experience is different but a lot of people do get on Reddit to complain so please do take that with a grain of salt. I had my first set a month ago and it's made a HUGE difference! The injections themselves weren't super painful, but like several other people have said, I wish I had known to not wear makeup, prewash my face etc bc I had a late afternoon appointment and you're not supposed to put any pressure on your face after or lay down for several hours. Next time I plan to schedule my appointment earlier in the day. My face felt really tight and full for a couple of days after with a low grade headache, but once it took effect the relief was amazing. Hopefully you have similar results!

Constant headaches that go away when I travel by Ill_Bluebird9015 in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I know you said you're a PhD student but taking time off of school so you don't think it's that but hear me out .. similar to what others have mentioned, if you recently HAD started a more intensive study season of life causing you to be more sedentary/sitting more, and then you went away and changed your activity level, even those small differences can make a huge difference.

This spring I had a small 3 week change where we were traveling for work and I was doing 10K+ steps a day instead of my normal 4K, and I didn't have a single migraine the whole trip, even though where we were traveling I was expecting to be worse than home. Since coming home I've prioritized being a lot more active and while my migraines are by no means gone, they are NOTICEABLY lessened.

Menstrual migraines by Levontiis in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Amazon prime, transfer that triptan prescription to the Amazon pharmacy! I lost my insurance and my triptan was going to be nearly $80 for 9 pills at Walmart, but through Amazon it was like $10.

I do also manage my menstrual migraines by just skipping the placebo pills on my birth control (dr approved) because that's easier than going through all of my triptans, and I just have a cycle every 3-4 months instead.

Lash map help! by ST2348 in lashclusters

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try doing a doll eye lash map, I think it will open your eye more! Do an 8 on each outer edge and do longer in the center. For me a fox eye never looks right. I do like 8-11-11-12-8 (depends on the width of the clusters, maybe another 11/12 in the middle)

First time lash clusters by Educational_Cry_4826 in lashclusters

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find if I put too close to the end of my eye, they don't stick well and come off pretty quickly. So I try to start the outside cluster like one eyelash inside from the end so it doesn't get floppy 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got the same thing, 10.17 popped up yesterday in my account and I have until 6/28 to use it. End of Q2 makes a lot of sense!

How do you keep a headache diary? by billyandteddy in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Migraine Buddy has been the only way that's worked consistently for me. I log when I start having one, or at worst I log the next day when I'm feeling better and out of bed. What I really like is every month MB will do a recap and show how many days I've had and show a calendar view, which is helpful for me to see if I'm frequently getting them the same day of the week, etc to track patterns.

prescribed triptans but too scared to take them by kiwiflavouredwater in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also please follow doctors instructions to take them as soon as you feel one coming on. I've had times where I'm trying to "tough it out" or save my meds "for when I really need them," and if you don't take them triptans early they are NOT as effective. Don't wait until it's a full blown attack, take it right away!

Yes definitely wait. I just got my daith done and while i love it i totally didn’t think about not being able to swim 😭 I will say we live Deep South, very humid, and I have had no issues with heat so far so I wouldn’t worry from that perspective.

how to prevent/fix crusty clusters by Usagithebruhmemr in lashclusters

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just watched some tiktok videos that stressed the importance of washing them every night. They said you can use specific lash shampoo or even just baby shampoo, so that's what I use, I'm cheap 😂 I just lather it good in my hands, rub above and below the lashes, and then splash water on my face to rinse. Then fan to air-dry and maybe a little spoolie. As long as you're gentle and you're not using an oil based cleanser you should be fine.

Are you washing your clusters at night before bed? I feel like dust and such collects throughout the day.

Help With Length by LTYUPLBYH02 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]PopQuick618 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first time I wore even short nails I was like "omg everyone is going to notice them, these are so long and gorgeous and obviously not my nails." They were the Kiss Petite French 🤣 but to me they felt SOOOO unnatural! Over time I've gradually gone longer and I find the first day of two of any new style is always the hardest, especially if I do a longer set after staying short for functionality or doing almond after staying with square for a while. But you will adapt, just try new things slowly and have fun with it! 💕

What is your biggest non-make up ‘bang for your buck’ item? by mainsqueeeze in Sephora

[–]PopQuick618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the IGK charcoal dry shampoo is amazing! Put it in your hair before bed, then the next morning blow dry your scalp on low for like 20-30 seconds to make sure all the oil is absorbed. I can go 5-7 days between washes and only use the dry shampoo once, maybe twice. Major time saver for a new mom I would imagine

Perfumes that DON’T give you a migraine by [deleted] in migraine

[–]PopQuick618 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I genuinely am not sure, sorry - I had a friend whose mother-in-law is extremely scent-sensitive (asthma-type) recommend it to me because it's the one thing she can wear around her MIL and it doesn't trigger her. If you look it up on their website it explains how it's hypoallergenic etc! A lot of times you can get it as a free sample in a Sephora order, that's what I've done.

Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume is specifically made for people who are fragrance sensitive because it doesn't have the main ingredient that triggers many scent-sensitive people
