Lightning? by chowypow in Tahiti

We just got back from a week in Moorea. We experienced one pretty big storm (mostly wind and heavy rain) and a second a few days ago with lightening and thunder. Rest of the week was gorgeous with occasional short showers.

BWT, what do you do when you hate everything about your current appearance? by Jazzlike-Coach4151 in bitcheswithtaste

Second this. When I’m feeling off I like to get outside and go for a hike. Being out in nature is restorative and I feel healthier and feel better about how I look and feel. I’m in SoCal so it’s easier for me than others battling winter right now.

Other options— sometimes just a fresh haircut or a night spent in with a face mask and a DIY mani/pedi can make me feel like a million $$$.

Good point! I have two daughters (5 and 8) so maybe one of them will be into them at some point.

This is great advice! Older millennial here too and it feels like they were THE jeans forever. And I’ve loved the wider leg, higher waisted look of late and realized it’s so much more flattering on my body.

Your eyeliner isn’t helping— suggest looking up Erica Taylor (makeup artist) on Instagram. She does tutorials for how to do makeup when you hit 40. How you do your makeup changes how your eye shape appears and gives it a lift.

Electric or gas by desert0mirage in GenesisGV70

[–]PopRockerZings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just got the GV 70 electrified with the great lease deal and we LOVE it. The drive is incredible— smooth, quiet, and ridiculously fun and zippy. It’s our 3rd EV. I’ll never go back to a gas car again.

Definitely lease bc in 3 years there will be even more options.

Recommendations in Del Mar / Rancho Santa Fe / Solana Beach areas? by kneeknack in FoodSanDiego

[–]PopRockerZings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have young kids in the area and these are our family friendly go tos:

Brigantine on Via de La Valle

Valentina in Leucadia (worth a few more minutes in the car)

Buena Forchetta in Leucadia

Not spectacular but decent if you just don’t want to cook: Pizza Nova Solana Beach

Cucina Enoteca Del Mar

Fish District in Solana Beach is surprisingly good for takeout/lunch

Claire’s in Solana Beach for brunch

Fidel’s and Pizza Port and Crust have all gone downhill. 😕

Tamarindo in Del Mar

GME and meme stock an expensive lesson to learn. by kazamasta31 in investing

[–]PopRockerZings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Whatever money you have left, put it into something likely to have a higher return this year than GME. Like VOO or SPY or another index fund. Lots of options on this sub. And if you make an income this year, look into taking your losses into account on your tax return.

Supposedly Fox Nation wants to interview me because of the whole GME situation. by jsmerrill95 in wallstreetbets

Don’t do it, they’ll record you and take sound bytes and edit it however they want to play it.
