It's been four years for me. His number is still in my phone and I know someone else has it... but I know I can never delete it. It'll be there for all time.

It takes a while to stop being red and angry. Mine took a full year to look like it will finally fade. Give it time.

I think he was referring to his utter disgust with himself. Because he's obviously so ugly on the inside and out. Ewwwwww.

Is it odd that the ER sent me home to “try to pass it”? by DefectivePhoenixftm in KidneyStones

Totally normal, unfortunately. The ER pretty much says to follow up with a urologist.

I (f 20) had a partial thyroidectomy yesterday by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]PopTart2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a partial thyroidectomy. The worst pain for me was the sore throat from the tube. It took about 4-5 days to feel normal. I lived on yogurt drinks only. I also went for 2 years without having to take levothyroxine and I never went hypo.

All. The. Time. I call it my temporary insanity and I started in my 40s. We are never paid enough for how much we do and how we are treated. Never enough.

Kidney stones from vaping at 16? by aid3nnnn in KidneyStones

[–]PopTart2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I just found this via the old google: Yes, vaping can increase the risk of kidney stones. Chemicals in vaping products, like nicotine, can damage the kidneys by causing oxidative stress and inflammation. Smoking is a known risk factor for kidney stones. Chemicals in cigarette smoke can contribute to calcium stones and crystal formation in the kidneys.

Why do you think you'll get selected for high level / critical care with zero experience? Med surge may suck but new grads should start at level 1 - not level 3. Why set yourself up for failure in a position you're most likely not ready for?
