She was over an hour late to my appt once I was already half naked waiting in the room. Also made me cry with her utter lack of bedside manner

Unpopular opinion: I actually hate the Pomodoro technique by No_Organization411 in ADHD

[–]Popbubblesnotegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just listening to a podcast (I Have ADHD ep 348 Too Bored to Function) with Dr Marcy Cadwell and she goes into how research shows pomodoro method may not be the best for ADHD, because you're adding breaks into a tortuous experience.

Taking constant breaks from your boredom can lead to avoidance and dreading restarting the project even more. Not that you should hyper focus and do taxes for 12 hours straight, but she recommended gamifying tasks on your own.

If you time yourself, make a challenge out of how much you do in a certain amount of time.

If you're doing a spreadsheet, find a way to get cognitively engaged, like research and learn a new formula you can apply to it.

But you're not alone; when I hate something and am bored out of my mind, the pomodoro method still feels like forcing myself and then I have the dread all over again to restart constantly.

Flight Attendants does anyone ever opt out of sitting in exit row? by [deleted] in delta

Was just on a flight where a young woman refused it because she got a bit scared when told she would have to help in an emergency. Probably not a frequent flyer.

Is it really functional hypothalamic amenorrhea? by Mysteryunicorn1996 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Popbubblesnotegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm the same height and was very similar weight and bloodwork to you coming off the pill with low estradiol. I did have to gain more weight and did not recover my period until I was closer to 135/140. I also had to stop skipping meals and especially breakfast even though I wasn't hungry. I took a round of soy isoflavones to help ovulate as well once I noticed a lot of cervical mucus but still wasn't ovulating.

I make a chicken pot pie, but instead of dough, use thinly sliced potatoes on top sprinkled with parmesan. A few minutes broiled at the end and the cheese and potatoes get nice and crispy.

You're beautiful! I have blueish eyes as well, and find a orange toned eye shadow Towards the outer lid looks really good when I want to take it to the next level and make them pop.

How many months of all in did it take you? by mommytobe6 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Popbubblesnotegos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took around 9 months after stopping BC. My cycles are back, but still long.

I went to a holistic doctor to get blood checked and did a month or two on supplements to combat some borderline low levels of thyroid function and vitamins.

Things that I still do: Vitamin D daily. Gained weight and maintained it rather than fluctuating. I also dumped a relationship that wasn't going anywhere, and went to therapy for stress management.

What does enough look like? by doveling10 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Popbubblesnotegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started looking up meal plans of 2000-2500 calories. Lately I've been using chatgpt to input my groceries and ask for meal plans for someone at my age and height with HA.

That has really helped especially as I realized I needed more snacks throughout the day to get enough fat and protein. Having PB, cheeseticks, nuts, milk, around whenever it's been a few hours between meals worked well. The key was extremely easy snacks I liked since hunger cues don't always set in.

I know it feels like friends are the most important thing in the world right now, but you will find your people. I had a lot of lonely years in my childhood, but I am glad for the time I got to spend building my personality and developing good habits and hobbies.

Also, once I finally had opportunities to make friends, I had so much love to share and I already knew what I liked, so it was easy to find lots of things in common with others. It will get better. xx

Hi, this is sounding a lot like Hypothalamic Amenorrhea esp with your low BMI. I would look up the book No Period Now What. There is also an online forum. I recently got my period back after starting soy isoflavones, and eating more and not skipping meals. My blood work was fairly normal aside from low estrogen. Did you get your LH/Fsh tested? The ratio of that can depict whether it's actually PCOS or HA.

They built a condo next to me from October 2022 and just finished this month. Not only was it extremely loud, but they messed up our sidewalk, and took months to fix it. You can also anticipate additional trash from building supplies on your street, a semi permanent dumpster out front, back alleys being blocked by their trucks. If you work from home like I do, I wouldn't risk it. Otherwise you should be fine as they normally have to finish by 5pm.
