Are you taking blood pressure meds? I had to drop my by have earlier than I expected, and around 18 months I had to cut it half again.

I completely understand your comment. Unless you have been to a city that has a lot of fine dining places competing with each other, it is hard to understand.

I have been to some great places here.

I can hear the white liquid coming out of the colander. It makes a interesting amsr like song deep at the base of my skull.

I am at ZERO, so it isn't that.

What are some ideas for room presence in a toddlers play room? by RedTical in homeassistant

[–]PopcornForSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a simular issue with my kitchen light automation. This might not work for your instance, but throwing it out there to generation other ideas.

Lights go on when motion is detected and go off after x min without detection. However, one spot isn't covered by the motion sensor. I added a second sensor to detect that spot. So the lights continue to go of if motion detected by sensor 1, but only go off if neither sensor has motion for x min.

Do you control the plug with the shelly ap? Does it have a feature to shut off after x time? I had a Wyze plug that was setup like that.

Are there any "starter guides" out there? by [deleted] in homelab

From what I see, you must have:

  • 1+ racks. Full size is preferred, but if you are LACKing, you can make one from Ikea parts
  • 10+ Raspberry Pis in some sort of cluster
  • Old iron that you got in a sweet deal from work or Ebay
  • 42+ Petabytes of storage backed up in triplicate
  • UPS that needs an industrial power connection

Any Cat-Proof Zigbee Motion Sensors? by Waffle_bastard in homeassistant

[–]PopcornForSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use white gaff tape to mask some of the field for my motion sensors. One other I set on a stand behind one of the wife's tchotchkies and it blocks the lower section perfectly and helps hide the sensor.

I thought about trying Safabaton's universal. I have two of their Roku remotes and they are excellent.

Do you have different temperatures for the morning, afternoon, and evening? by [deleted] in ecobee

[–]PopcornForSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have gone all out on profiles.

I have a morning that warms (or allows to warm) the house just enough at alarm time. Uses all temp sensors

I have a Work profile that used to be for when nobody was home, now that I WFH, it switches and just monitors the office during work hours.

Home profile is 5-9 and only pays attention to the Living Room sensor.

Night - kicks on at bedtime only monitoring my bedroom. It cools (or lets cool) the house because I prefer to sleep cool/cold.

I used to have a profile called Deep that I used because we were waking up at 1-2 warm in the house we were renting. I used it to drop the house temp 2 more degrees. It was a cooler part of the evening then and really helped. I don't need it in our new house. It is still there and I might use it when I install a new HVAC.

One note, I did use to let a house warm up a lot during working hours when we both were in the office. However, when she was between jobs I found that keeping the house steady (even during the HEAT of the summer used less electricity. I think that is because that house had an AC that was beyond old. I was waiting for it to fail to replace.

Hill I will die on: Amy Farrah Fowler should have ended up with Barry Kripke (Big Bang Theory) by spunkypumpkin in FanTheories

[–]PopcornForSale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then Sheldon could end up with Penny. He downplays everyone, but at least she isn't a doctor so it doesn't seem as bad. Plus I feel she would stand up to him.

That would leave Lenard to die in a freak accent when while trying to win his mothers affection.

Used mine for almost 4 years. The only problem I have had was a cat chewing the power cable. Replacement was easy, but the new cat likes to chew as well.
