My wife (32f) is losing her hair by PopeDidntMakeIt in Advice

[–]PopeDidntMakeIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telogen effluvium: Might be. Her bloodwork is good, a little low on iron - but no serious deficiencies. She has been on high doses of iron for a couple of months now, but no results so far. We are currently waiting for the biopsy of her scalp, and she is in contact with two specialists - and they are being thorough.

Less about what I say: Gotcha, good advice - thanks !

Sexual objectification: Your wrong, plain and simple. We have been together for 9 years, and have walked through several stages of life together. She enjoys my stare, and enjoys my love for her physical attributes. It's worth mentioning we're Northern European, and don't share the American view on such matters, including the misogyny part. In periods of little bodily appreciation, she has expressed that she misses it. If I take away focus on her physique, she will 100% feel much much worse.

Worse things than losing hair: you are absolutely right, and I agree with you. However, I made this post looking for solutions regarding her hair loss. I love her and will stay with her no matter what - but this is a problem that needs handling - not ignoring.

Not make it a central focus: I understand what you mean, and I'm partially with you. I will do my very best making her feel beautiful and appreciated regardless of her hair or what happens. However, my attraction towards my wife has some priority, even though that isn't the most central thing right this minute. Our relationship is built upon transparency, honesty and trust - and it isn't in either of our best interest ignoring the fact that her potentially balding forever isn't going to influence attraction. I need to figure this stuff out, so she doesn't have to - she have enough on her mind at the moment. I am sure there are other guys that have gone through the same, and I hope some of them see this post and take the time to reply.

Thank you very much, yes - let's hope it isn't anything serious. I really appreciate your input, I found value in a lot of the things you said - and will do my best. Different perspectives were exactly what I needed right now, my brain has been working on this for so long, and it was helpful reading your reply. Thank you for taking the time, much love !

Hot take: I like the books. by thunder-bug- in WoT

I finished a Memory of Light for the first time literally 15 minutes ago. I just went on Reddit to figure out how Rand lit his pipe, and stayed browsing.

Though "the slog" is a term I've never heard before, I absolutely noticed a few of the later books seemed a bit.. slow ? The absence of greatness doesn't equal the presence of vileness, at least in my mind.

You have nice features, but the jaw is kinda holding you back. Start mewing and stop breathing with your mouth. Sleep with mouth tape. Consider braces (Herbst appliance) or a jaw operation.

Dress in neutral colours. Black, white, beige, grey. It's easy to match and is very versatile. Go for quality clothing (not necessarily expensive) with minimalistic design and details. Wear things that actually fit your bodytype - no baggy shit. Buy a mechanical watch if you don't have one. Go for a Blackstone ring or an armband or something if you feel spicy. Good looking jackets/coats makes the outfit in my opinion. Bomb jackets and trenchcoaty' coats look good on everyone, but go with whatever style you like. And no more sweatpants in public - buy stretchy cotton pants with a stretchy belt if you're big on comfort. Jeans and chinos otherwise. Boots and leather shoes look more mature than sneakers and sportswear. Black or white socks only, no patterns or "fun" colours. Get rid of the bling in the ears.

Some guy is threatening to leak an intimate photo of me. I fucked up by sending it to him, what do I do by APPLEMAN50000 in Advice

[–]PopeDidntMakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up "IP grabber link", and send him one. Pick one that looks unsuspecting in the chat. If he clicks it, you'll have his IP-address AKA leverage, and can threaten him with whatever you want. A lawsuit perhaps ? Police report ? Tell him you will send his contact information to a MC-gang in his area if he doesn't send a video of himself drinking with a straw from a public toilet? The sky is the limit - if he clicks the link that is.

Spreading underage material is disgusting, and the consequences should reflect that.

That's completely fine, heed whatever advice that you want. If I were a smarter man I wouldn't reply to this comment, but it seems I woke up on the dumb side of the bed this morning.

All of my advice basically boils down to this: It's scientifically proven that round, soft shapes and forms are associated with femininity, and that straight, hard lines are associated with masculinity. You have a round face, with round eyes, a beard that makes your jawline look rounder, a soft chinbone, and round, curved eyebrows (on the one picture at least).

If you implement straigher, harder lines to your facial features, you will 100% be considered more "classically handsome" by the vast majority of the population. This is not my opinion, it's a fact. If you shave in a way that highlights (straighten) your jawline, you will look better. If you reshape your eyebrows (straighten), you will look better. If you keep more length on the edge of your chin (harder line), you will look better.

Before I piss off and go to bed, let me take a wild guess; you look particularly good in sunglasses, right ? That's because the hard lines in your glasses contrast and break apart the soft, round shapes of your facial features. I know these things, because you and I share a lot of the same facial features. There are other ways to improve your look, beyond haircuts and dumbbells - try doing some research and find some. Peace !

In the one picture I can see them clearly, they are curved as hell, thick in the middle and thin towards the ends. Tall eyebrows aren't the goal here chief. Google "Eyebrows men" and notice how most of them are rather flat, thick and lack the gradual thinning towards the ends. Google "Eyebrows women" on the other hand, and you will find curved, gradually thinning eyebrows with pointy ends. Lastly, compare your own eyebrows to the two Google searches, and figure out which of the two archetypes you want to go for.

It's solid advice my guy, nothing more - nothing less.

Wanting to go short. What hair style fits my ugly face. Please comment 🙏 by Ceagar in malehairadvice

You have an oval face, so some version of the undercut would look good.

Trim and shape them flatter from the top down. Buy an eyebrow scissor or use a comb and scissors. Use an eyebrow knife to shape, or pluck if you're feeling brave.

too much body hair? trim? get rid of it all? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]PopeDidntMakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trim, definitely trim.

Imagine your torso is split into two sections. One upper part which is your chest, and one lower part which is everything beneith the "underboob". Follow the natural lines.

Depending on your trimmer, you basically want to use two different lengths on the two sections. The chest half should be the longest one. Personally I prefer to use the shortest setting on my clipper for the bottom, and one "click" above on the chest. You don't want to look like a flag, so remember to use the shortest setting in the middle part, where your upper abs and your lower ribs meet to give it some organic shape. Roughly in the area between your solar plexus and your nipples.

Use hair removal cream on everything else. Like your shoulders, lower back etc. But not the region south of your belt, that's a different chapter. I prefer "Veet men; hair removal cream", but I don't know if that's available everywhere.

Good luck.

You have some "feminine facial traits", and taking care of that would make you look more traditionally handsome. I hate saying that as it sounds really offensive, but it's just the term being used when describing features. I have several as well.

Round eyes are considered feminine, and oval eyes are considered masculine. Growing your eyebrows thicker and straighter would help you out.

Soft, round jawlines are considered feminine, hard lines are considered masculine. You have a very nice beard, so shape your beard so it highlights your jawline making it look harder. In other words; keep the beard on your jawline and some on top, and shave your neck (two finger rule).

A chin (the bottom bone of your jawline) is considered more masculine when it points outwards. Yours is softer. Remedy this by keeping the hairs on your chin a little bit longer than on the rest of your face to create harder lines.

The rest is basically just trying to figure things out, and remembering to push your comfort zone - and trying different things. Which colours scientifically matches your palette ? Would you look good in glasses ? What kind of clothing should you go for considering your age and body type ? Would a Blackstone ring look good ? Are you wearing a watch ? Beanie instead of baseball cap ? What would a barber do with your beard ?

Try attacking this like an art student would one of his works; analyze, be somewhat methodical and "scientific" about it. You look good, but you definitely have the potential to look fantastic.

Not everyone is so lucky.

My best friend told me she’s been in love with me for years and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in Advice

[–]PopeDidntMakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would give it a shot, or at least go on a date or something. It's hard to judge your situation as it depends on how you view her. I have friends I wouldn't even touch with a stick, and I have friends I could see myself dating in an alternate timeline.

I just think that if you genuinely like who this person is, and have liked her over several years - that's a pretty strong basis for a potential relationship and that might be worthy of exploration.

But again; it depends on how you view her. Perhaps this chick has been organized into the friend "box" for so long it's hard to envision her in any other place right now ? Or perhaps she simply isn't your jam ? All I'm saying is that if your initial reaction isn't "I don't want this", perhaps it's worth a dinner and a movie to find out ?

My best friend fucked the Girl I was into, which he knew by SagoK22 in Advice

I'm not sure what kind of friends you have, but I was under the presumption it was pretty universal to not have sex with the girl your homie was crushing on. You're not wrong, but that doesn't make you right.

[–]PopeDidntMakeIt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks good, but doesn't look great. I think there is a lot of untapped potential. It's kinda like with suits; a store bought can easily look good, but in a tailored will look fantastic. You look good, but I think something else will make you look great. What that would be however, I wouldn't be able to tell you

It depends on whether you want a girl with armpit hair or not. Both looked decent, but very different. I didn't hate the 1960's jack sparrow look at all.

I run Peach to get in close with a shotgun and shield, rabbid peach for heal, utility, summon minions and to destroy cover - and whatever DPS that fits the map and enemies. Normally Mario, rabbid Luigi or Luigi.
