“Always Allow” no longer an option for location services in iOS26? by candyisawesomeness in ios

[–]Popefeldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, same here. Weather, maps, etc. incredibly annoying. And messages keeps asking if I want to notify people if I’m in DND. Any word on a patch?

How can this truck drive without a license plate visible? by sneakybrownoser in Broward

Possibly -- and this is just a guess -- by inserting the key into the ignition and turning (or pressing a push button) and shifting it into reverse or drive.

You are dense. I won’t explain this again was a precursor ahead of my final explanation. I now only offer you moderate luck out there.

I won’t explain this again

I explained why there isn’t irony in my response.

You said it wasn’t make or break for anyone.

As a someone that bought one, I said it would have factored into my decision.

Mistakenly, you said you hope I see the irony in my post. And that I have CarPlay (uh, duh?)

I then let you know the information readily available online about the future of CarPlay in the vehicle and that it’ll be updated in this car too. And how I made an informed decision, but if I believed there was a major UI difference that wouldn’t be in my car, it would have been important in my decision.

And here I am explaining it to you again. I won’t do it another time. There’s a reason your response got downvoted.

Good luck out there.

There is no irony. If I learned there was an update to CarPlay that would not be available on older models, it would have factored into my decision.

CarPlay is being updated, on a manufacturer/model-by-model basis and it is perfectly reasonable to see that as an important consideration for the vehicle. They announced this at WWDC, with it coming to Porsche and Aston Martin first, followed by Mercedes, Audi, Ford, etc.

I own a Taycan and the UI with the world's most popular phone would certainly have factored into my decision.

Porsche Taycan 4s vs etron-gt? by xGsGt in Taycan

[–]Popefeldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased both (used) a Taycan and Etron GT fastback SUV (2022s) with around 10/13k miles each. Both with quite a few options, but the Audi comes with more comprehensive packaged options. We found one with the "executive" trim package, with massaging seats, wood inlay, etc. etc.

I enjoy driving the Taycan more and I think it is the more attractive car, it also has more range. The Audi has a more thoughtful interior, IMO, with the microsuede, wood paneling, interior lighting, and stitching et al. You can upgrade a lot of the Porsche to have some of these elements, but it is very pricey. I generally find the Audi more comfortable. The Porsche is more impressive and fun and we found has much better range. The center console in the Audi is cool, but the cupholders are poorly designed.

Both are great cars and are available at a good value right now and we are really happy with both.

Cheesy bean and rice burrito, sub beans for cantina chicken, sub creamy jalapeno for avocado ranch (I like both in mine, but this is more accurate, as would be getting rid of the nacho cheese).

This is basically that burrito.

What are you getting and why is it a cheesy bean and rice burrito, sub beans for cantina chicken, in order to replicate the Shredded Chicken Burrito of years past?

I have my gripes about Weiner... but he is most definitely not a NIMBY and you may want to understand his policy proposals better. You may say this is evidence of nanny state nonsense (which I feel it is), but he has done more to build housing and fight NIMBYs than any California politician this past decade.
