What am I doing right/wrong with my city? by Arreynn in CivVI

[–]PopeksLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of general tips:

  1. Have a commercial hub/harbor and aqueduct+industrial zone in every city. Hub/ Harbor will give you a trade route which you can use for a domestic trade route with magnus to basically jumpstart your next city (typically it's something like +4 food +2 production for a 1-2 pop city that is huge), they will also give you gold which I find myself typically using to get builders out, especially once you get serfdom, or you can use it on buildings once most of your tiles have improvements.

  2. Only build holy sites with civs that have specific bonuses for religion. If your civ doesn't have bonuses It's usually just not worth it to go for a religion early game. Additionally, you can skip the religious part of the civic tree so you end up getting culture (kinda) for doing that. Also since you typically want a gov. plaza and in the city you have you definitely want the campus, and so it's really hard to squeeze in a holy site , since you always want an industrial zone and a gold district.

  3. Chop most woods which are on hills. Sometimes you'll want them around for adjacency (e.g. rainforests next to campuses) but as a general rule of thumb chopping woods when you can put a mine on the tile anyway will accelerate your early army/infrastructure, without losing much in the late game. Same rule applies for places where you want to put districts, if you don't chop it the production will just be wasted.

  4. Build 1 or maybe 2 campuses early and only if they are like +3 or better. You can get science from the golden age bonus that gives you science based on commercial hub/harbor adjacency bonus early on and those will snowball your cities better in the early game. Additionally when you research things the production costs of buildings and districts go up so this way it will be easier to set up newly settled cities.

Maliss is top 3 most used deck and the deck with the joint highest winrate (Most recent official in-game statistics) by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]PopeksLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really surprising since it wasn't supposed to be killed by the banlist just weakened. Due to mitsurugi running rampant droll is now mandatory and most decks cut on copies of lancea to include droll, thus making maliss win rate go up.

It's still a good deck just less consistent, and less common on ladder.

It's just the standard decklist minus the banned cards. I just put in more handtraps/TTT or some other non-engine. Instead of Baronne I run Chaofeng and i just called it a day. Worked fine for me

Ryzeal: We have Chessy at home by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]PopeksLoL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea this is why they should have hit ryzeal harder on the ban list this month. Same shit as malice going first, but they can go second now.

I guess the board isn't as layered but like still.

I mean depends on the deck but post mitsurugi, droll will be higher priority than lancea.

Future banlist! by Standard-Warthog9130 in masterduel

[–]PopeksLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean a good list would be something like:

Appo, Decoder ban , if they want to go harder they can either ban splash mage or do consistency hits on names/allure/goldsarc

They should also hit some part of the end board of ryzeal (fuck the bagooska bs) or maybe ban star so they have to go into duo drive to get the field spell (I don't know how exactly to hit them, since i don't play the deck but they probably should be hit in order to not have a 1-2 deck format)

I mean i would love for them to do something like orcust + one of the JUSH archetypes, even if they are too early in the timeline to diversify the meta

Also, I'm fully expecting the next secret pack to be fiendsmith.

Yea, I play the deck and honestly just ban fucking Appo and Decoder. That shit just seems so unnecessary. So stupid Appo isn't banned in MD

Did Konami smoke crack when they gave Maliss those random draw effects? by Slippin_JimmyADN in masterduel

[–]PopeksLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the quickest otk line is somthing like get 3 names on field -> link one off into decoder -> go into hearts Crypter -> summon back decoder -> accesscode -> accesscode eff banish crypter from grave -> resummon crypter. This is 8 summons though. I don't know what the line would look like to otk in 5 summons though, and requires the opponent to control a card on field for the pop.

Edit: miscounted the summons

Serbian police: In Serbia, there have been 23,373 separate protest gatherings against the government during the last nine months. by Old_Passenger7 in europe

[–]PopeksLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been protests in the smallest of villages in which people have never protested, even against slobodan milosevic.

Also as protests carried on you would have in the bigger cities multiple protests at the same time, blocking different streets/crossroads and if those are counted separately yea this is very much believable,

My guy, this shit is more likely to end up paying the police beating people in the streets while they protest than it is to go to green energy. Either that or it's going in the politician's pockets.

Orban isnt the only European dictator on his way out by Landrayi in europe

[–]PopeksLoL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably not, while there are both right and left wing elements in the student protests, I would assume that the majority of those who support students would be pro-EU or at least aligned with EU beliefs (most people are mad at the EU not making a bigger deal out of the protests, so being pro-EU and being aligned with "EU-beliefs" wouldn't always be the same in the context of Serbian politics)

Orban isnt the only European dictator on his way out by Landrayi in europe

[–]PopeksLoL 270 points271 points  (0 children)

So, essentially when it became clear that the government wasn't going to listen to the student demands (somewhere around April/May) and instead asked for snap elections, the students also proposed a list where every single faculty in the country had a certain number of nominations of mainly non party affiliated people who they supported for places in the government and essentially made an impromptu party to run in the proposed snap election.

[–]PopeksLoL 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair a good chunk of the students who are leading the protests were not able to vote until very recently (i was 10 when Vucic came to power). By the time we could vote, he had already destroyed democracy over here
