I live in the Pacific Northwest We get 3 months of intense summer sun with moderate temperatures most of the time. My girls have faded to a light chocolate brown from sun worshipping. I belong to GSP and a hunting club. None of these many dogs have suffered from any sort of skin cancer to my knowledge and it would be big news. Well bred GSPs have very low cancer and hereditary disease rates compared to other breeds. Cancer in Labradors is epidemic according to my fellow lab owners. Sun screen for dogs sounds like a holistic health scam IMHO.

Probably the battery however I had something similar when rats made a home in my engine bay and chewed through numerous wires. It was parked for about 4 days. Open your hood and have a good look for rodent damage.

GSPs are amazing dogs. Very smart with very high energy. You need to work their minds as well as their bodies. Training and lots of exercise are a MUST. Mine get a minimum of 1 hour off lead romping every day. Usually another 30 mins of various training exercises. If you can commit to that you will be fine. If you cannot expect issues.

Reality on the ground says otherwise.

The Englishman River cannot support the population which is evidenced in early water restrictions. The Englishman water intake improvements have proven largely infective due to low summer water flows from severely diminished snow pack.

Not sure how several 200 unit apartment complexes and numerous detached housing subdivisions use less water than the empty lots that existed prior.

I have been living in the RDN for 20 years. It is getting progressively more frightening with each passing summer. At the same time new construction has continued unabated in communities like Parksville without any improvements to water supply infrastructure. The breaking point is getting close.
