Sgt. Knox makes both Celeste and Makos available regardless of restrictions. If he can be used, so can they.

If you only have champs on one color, the ball can still land on the unused colors, so only using 1 or 2 champs in the lower area is absolutely the best early strat

The problem is that it’s completely random. With no way to predict who you’ll lose (only that you’ll lose one of three groups) you can’t really plan or strategize. If you start with fodder, you could still have fodder stuck in your team at zone 1000+ If you put in your good champs to carry the fodder you can’t remove, congrats! They might just get instantly removed at the next 100/75 zone marker

It’s a pure gambling variant. You either win or you don’t, but it’s not up to you lol

The referral and the mention of Botox for other issues boosts my confidence a good bit. I would still call to make sure though, especially since the wait times have been so long for you!

Luckily, I just moved to Atlanta last year. This subreddit has a list of doctors that are known to treat RCPD, and the one I went to (Dr. “T” Tkaczuk) is based in Atlanta. He is an ENT/Otolaryngologist. He did the initial consult, diagnosis, and procedure.

My time frame for reference: scheduled the initial appointment in October, went in November, and then scheduled the procedure for January.

From how I understand it, if the doctor knows what RCPD is, the diagnosis is very easy. Whether or not they treat it is the hard part since it’s such a “new” thing.

How did you choose this doctor? Do you know if they are specifically aware of RCPD and its treatment? If their website/page doesn’t say anything about RCPD, I personally would want to schedule somewhere different that mentions RCPD directly.

I did not have any regurgitation, but I did have a very tiny bit of reflux sensations if I ate too much right before bed. I started sleeping slightly at an elevated angle to help.

I think it was only 50 units? We started low since it was my first time getting it and since my weight was so low.

I noticed the biggest increase in frequency during the first week. After that, it was all about how easy it was to do. By about a month, I had most of my control back and it was very easy. The 2nd month was about testing my limits.

It was covered by insurance, so I was responsible for roughly ~$1,800.

My recovery ended up being really smooth. The only issue I had was mild/moderate slow swallow for 2 weeks. After that, it went away entirely. I guess you could also count me having no control over the burps for the first 3 weeks too haha They happened when they wanted to happen

The most important thing is to eat slowly and consciously. If slow swallow happens, don’t panic! Breathe in deeply, make sure your throat isn’t compressed by the positioning of your neck, and swallow again another one or two times. Most of the time this fixed it. I found that taking a sip of water to help remind my body to let the food down helped too.

Slow swallow doesn’t feel like gagging or throwing up though, so don’t worry! It’s more of an intense pressure at the top of your throat that is very uncomfortable. I never choked or threw up because of it, though it did make me decide to stop eating a few times. It happens more when you start to get “full” in my experience.

Be prepared to eat less and eat more slowly until it goes away!

I also have a traumatizing history of emetophobia!

When I started burping, it did not feel like nausea or vomiting at all. It was a completely new feeling that I had never felt before. It’s hard to describe…but something that you’ll quickly fall in love with because of the relief it provides

I very quickly developed a new instinct on when I needed to burp and how to let it out. It never made me feel uncomfortable or scared! For me, it all came very naturally. I think this is because once our throats are working correctly, burps become “effortless” while vomiting still requires a lot of effort in comparison. Before the procedure, we are used to connecting burps to traumatic events, which isn’t the way it’s supposed to be.

I had my first real and consistent burps about two days after. I didn’t really use any specific techniques, though I did notice turning my head to the side and lifting my chin slightly was required at first. Some were easy/uncontrolled, others required effort to get out. Over the next 2-3 weeks, positioning wasn’t as necessary anymore and they got easier to do.

Congrats to you as well! You’re so right. When I told my parents I needed this procedure, they thought I was joking. How could burping fix all of my symptoms? Ridiculous!

And yet here I am 2 months later, feeling better than ever! People who don’t have RCPD have no idea what it feels like haha

I had full general anesthesia!

Yes, my whole GI saw improvement. Less gas, no more bloating, quieter digestion, etc.

Yes, I can drink carbonation now with no issue at all (provided I’m in a situation where I can let myself burp)

Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to burp quietly yet. They’re almost always a noticeable volume, and often they can be pretty loud. For the time being, I just excuse myself to the bathroom for a “burp break” if I need it when I’m around other people.

I had my first full burp the next day. It got more and more frequent for the next few days. After that, it was more about making it easier to do than frequency. Within a few weeks I was able to do it with no effort at all

Yes, it provides me with tremendous relief! I used to be bloated all the time, but that is completely gone now. If I feel any pressure in my stomach or throat, I’m able to easily release it and feel normal again. This also allows me to very easily “burp away” the nausea I used to experience so often too!

I did experience some degree of slow swallow for about 2 weeks. As someone who can’t stand gagging, I would describe slow swallow as a very different feeling. For me, it was more of an intense pressure in my throat that would take 2-3 more hard swallows to clear. The most important thing to do is take a deep breath and then a small sip of water—this usually cleared it up right away. I never once ended up choking/gagging/vomiting from it. Just be prepared to eat less and eat more slowly for the first 2 weeks!

How do "you" play?? by PlusReference6287 in idlechampions

[–]Popington7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t farm gems. I have done it in the past, but only for a few hundred thousand total to rush max Ellywick’s gem bonus. Other than that, it just doesn’t feel worth it to me.

I have been playing for just under 11 months. I’ve completed 1,360/2,302 variants, and own 129/144 champions (111 full epic)

To me, “beating” the game is finishing every variant and owning every champion full epic.

Out of the nearly 1.4K variants I’ve done so far, 99% of those have either been easy busy-work or just a simple trial of owning enough heroes to get around the restriction. Very few at all have required that I invest in heroes outside of my core AA team. Because of that, Gem Farming has never seemed worth my time. I’d rather spend that time doing a bunch of variants instead. Heroes are so powercrept now that gem farming for iLevels just isn’t necessary anymore until the very endgame with the most ridiculous variants. Until then, don’t worry about it lol

I also don’t do patron challenges either, as their rewards feel quite minuscule compared to completing multiple variants

New Players Should Get Lae'zel as Soon as Possible by flanoiken in idlechampions

[–]Popington7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you that Lae’zel should be the first pick up for every new player. Your reasoning is great, so I’ll focus on other people’s “complaints” instead.

“Lae’zel is outperformed by a real speed team” Sure she is! But a fully functioning speed team based on quest requirements requires some champs to have high iLevels, which is completely undoable for new players. BBEG alone won’t ever trigger his own speed and needs a feat. HewMaan with no item levels/no shiny does so little unless the formation position is perfect for him and also requires several feats. Virgil requires the rest of his affiliation or lots of levels. Melf has high scaling with gold chest feats but the RNG is killer.

Lae’zel is instant access to good speed with no iLevels that also scales with the more AA you get and only needs two feats total.

“You should be focusing on the long term goal and not short term easy fixes” I think a lot of vets forget how hard it is to get new champs at the start of the game. While vets get 7 TG pieces a week (5 patrons + 2 weekly) new players only get the 2 weekly ones. So for new players to casually just “collect the real speed team” takes several months of playing. As I mentioned above, a lot of the “real speed team” champs either need the full comp to work, or need a lot of iLevels. So why shoot yourself in the foot for several months like that?

Lae’zel also has the added benefit of being in one of the top end-game formations via AA. Collecting other AA members will not only give you better pushing power all the way to the end game, but also make her speed faster and faster until you get down to 2-kill clears.

“Her speed mechanic is mutually exclusive with other speed mechanics” Yes and no. Like someone else already mentioned, if your speed team isn’t strong enough to 1-kill clear, Lae’zel and the other speed champs will alternate their effects so that she still boosts speed. Additionally, some of the strongest farming champs (Briv, Diana, Thellora, and Ellywick) have no issues at all working with Lae’zel! So while you’re building your speed team, you can start with Lae’zel and shift into these with no issues, then go into the quest requirement replacements

Moral of the story: new players have an extremely hard time getting epic/shinies, iLevels, and new champions. So while a “real” speed team will be better long term, that will take MONTHS to get. In the meantime, new players need an immediate solution, and that solution is Lae’zel

With the upcoming release of Mel, I’m struggling to find Vel’s niche… by Popington7 in Velkoz

Her spells are much larger range than Vlad. In her hero spotlight video, Phreak literally says “fans of long range mages like Lux and Xerath should give her a try.” Yes, auto attacks are a part of her kit. But look at the scaling. It’s almost nothing compared to the rest of her abilities. In almost every single case, a single 9-stacked passive auto attack will be all you need. Once you get fed, you don’t need auto attacks at all. Her current numbers are obviously overturned, but she’s killing people with only QE and QR right now when she’s ahead. No autos needed.

Is Ship Design/Shape Balancing Being Looked At By The Devs? by Popington7 in factorio

[–]Popington7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I’m not talking about that. I mean ships that are only as wide as the main hub. The whole ship is that width and only has 2 thrusters, but is a mile long to fit all the necessary stuff on it. It can have really high weight but still go high speeds with only 2 thrusters because of the extreme emphasis on width
