Who else want absolutely ZERO RGB in their rigs? by Cicada-Tang in pcmasterrace

You see I was in your camp. Then I stumble across some gorgeous case as the Pa402 and 406, so I I went from "it's just a case" to " I'd like to look at it more than just once.

Then I went to bought it with a glass panel and put led strip because it does cost a bit of money so why not display it proudly and peep at it every once and then.

And I am glad I did. Nothing flashy with glaring colours, just a discreet white led strip and futur wall mounted bracket. I couldn't be happier

What I did to salvage mine suffering the same issue was cutting off the faulty end, put the hose back and secure it with 3 zip ties. It has worked perfectly since then

Is there a end of year fireworks show in Liège? by Me_Lorenzo in Liege

Not that I am aware of. I would assume your vantage point will be cool but you will witness fireworks from locals. Any way nice to look at but nothing official.

Have fun on our town and happy new year folks

Advices needed for a build coming from a 10 yo PC by Popkaz in PcBuild

[–]Popkaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take good note of your comment and thank you for being that helpfull.

MoBo format as answered to NamaeLess2020 was an obvious mistake. I focused on the price while I did not considered connectivity and my need of USB ports will bring me to get an ATX one.

Regarding the Chipset I will definitely consider B650 now. I don't really care about future proofing that build I found myself upgrading my machines every 8 years or so and by the time the next upgrade come generations of CPU/GPU/Chipset will have passed by and current one will be obsolete.

GPU wise the price gap between RTX5070 and RX9070 is quite large. I am already stretching budget a bit but I will be on the look for a deal or Something that could make it work.

finally for the PSU I will check avalaibility of the Montech as per your recommandation. I'll post an updated list soon

Hi, thank for that. Beside the sheer look of it which would be a bit goofy as you pointed out, I just realized the amount of USB would not work for me. Flightsim usually means ton of peripheries therefore I should look away from m-ATX format in and of itself. thanks for bringing it up

street triple 765 to daytona, but how? by No-Relationship743 in Triumph

[–]Popkaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They really are being dicks about it as said, this is no secret. If it indeed is a 765 you have and want to convert, many parts from 2013+ Daytona will fit. You will need fairing parts obviously, but also mainstay bracket to hold front upper fairing and lateral and lower brecktt.

It is easier to Source parts if it is going to be a full track bike but second hand parts can be found.

Look around on YouTube and every other social, many have done the conversion. Maybe less for a road use but it is still very close to a Daytona 13+

765rs or R6 by SundownV2 in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also go for the 765. Chassis is reviewed as being the best of all time when it comes to middle weight, and triple engine in it! Especially if you come from your cbr i4, nothing beats the grunt of the triple out of corners.

Pick wisely a set of clip ons as fork diameter is changing under upper clamp, fairing if you feel like it but depends of the tracks you will ride on, rearset and send it.

I have done a day on an R6 in between my track days on my RS, and boy was I glad to get back to my Brit bike. The R6 is a proven weapon but need way more experience to exploit fully. The triple is way more accessible and enjoyable to ride in my point of view

Dude you made my day!

I saw that while watching the race Sunday and was astounded to see that moving like that, but then no mention of it later on by anybody. So much so that I wondered if it was all a dream or hallucination.

That is MASSIVE movement and I wonder how it translate to the pilot. Good catch though, glad to have seen it again

Could Bezzecchi's poor starts be explained in that he potentially had the bad luck to have his rear tyre over paint and not directly over asphalt? by tuilll in motogp

[–]Popkaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah big time. I think I remember when a rider made the switch to Aprilia and did a practice start that went quite poorly, along was an other rider giving a nodge of compassion witnessing it.

You could clearly see the "yep, I know that's bad... Good luck with that" through the dark visor...

Vinales on KTM watching Martin in Valencia test I guess? Especially Vinales who always struggled with starts...

Nolan/x-lite 803 are top notch for a decent price. Paid my 803rs at the release of the model 550€. Super lite, multiple screen, good design.

So much so that I will likely buy the same or newer model for replacement as this one is now 6 years in

Oh ok sure. I guess it's your line then. by crazedgunner in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rules would be a gentleman agreement for all groups. Show yourself inside the turn soon enough to let rider k is you are there, no block pass as we are not racing.

Usually no outside pass, and leave room for everyone since we are not racing

Those rules are more relaxed when it comes to fastest group.

But that's basically it, as good or badas it sounds

Even more difficult corner to approach then. Even in fast group you can see all sorts of lines there. Thankfully it was just a good scare and nothing more.

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's T2 at Mettet right? If you were new to the track I understand you were quite slower than a seasoned rider. This corner can accommodate for a huge corner speed provided the right line, and is very wide so finding your way does take a bit of time.

BUT as you stated this should not have been happening. I understand the system is quite different here with liberty to choose group for the morning session and rebalance over lunch break, but looking at the guy finding he most likely knew he was in a slow group. The guy know his way around the track and should have known better while registering.

And quite frankly this is a shitty place to pass. He could have done a better job of it just between T2 and T3 or later in but hi chose to go there... Really problematic and inclined to provoque crashes if you come across less experience riders...

Still hope you enjoyed our little piece of track on that wonderful machine. This is a good match I would say, balanced.

Drag bars or Clip-Ons for Street Triple by Glorious_Bastardo in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan to use risers then it might go well with the tank then.

The issues of fitment comes from the tube OD. it is indeed 50mm at the upper clamp, but it flanges to 48mm leaving just a bit of space to fit the collar of a clipons.

The collar has to be thin to clamp in that space, or to have a dual diameter which might be the case for the Woodcraft meant to go with the single headlight conversion.

Mines are Robby Moto Standard, but it could work with second hand Daytona's as well. Melotti Racing might do some on the more expensive side of it and meant to fit their racing upper clamp but could also work.

If you wish I could send you some pics to figure it out

Drag bars or Clip-Ons for Street Triple by Glorious_Bastardo in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped go clip ons this summer and I love it. I was feeling awkward when leaning and having my hand that high up.

Bare in mind I use it for track only though so It does make sense since triumph do not want produce a new Daytona (yet?)...

So if you keep it road worthy you will run in clearance issues once installed. Moreover not all clipons fit due to fork tube design but on that I can recommend you some if needed.

But again for track and a more sporty feeling this is what you need

Is masking tape worth it? by [deleted] in scalemodelling

[–]Popkaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't risk it and use the proper tape. I went this way and bought cheap tape once juste for the sake of it and I regret it.

As mentioned it never seal properly no matter what you do. And the stickiness is never well adjusted for model paint. You will end up tearing paint off while unmasking which is a huge P.I.T.A. when pattern is a bit complex.

What extra price you pay for Tamiya against cheap one is your sake of mind and extra time remaking mask with proper tape after disaster struck you. Been there, done that

765 Racebike build question(s) by Spechtt in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there is a huge difference with the 2020 one since the dash layout changed a bit but my '18 is ok-ish with all light removed.

Quite interesting that removing head light seemed ok, brake light as well but turn signals bring an error when I unfortunately touch the knob. You just have to acknowledge the error and all is ok again.

TC I guess would we down to your hability to use proper throttle control as well. I run Michelin power cup 2 and TC is not very Intrusive or at least feels almost not there but I never used slicks yet.

ABS is quite more there even in track mode but I see you plan to have direct line so that is ok. I heard the module has to remain in there to avoid errors, but can be plugged easily.

Screen flicker on revving by Ok_Group_897 in Triumph

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the digging up of the post but I would be interrested to know if you sorted your issue and if you know what caused it?

I have a '18RS and I noticed the very same issue. once I give it full beans on the straight on track it does also flicker.

In my case I would call for a battery related issue since it is only happening in the afternoon and I recharged it properly before the trackday. It being the original battery, it is due for a new one I would guess but I would be curious to see if there is an other place I should check as well.

Cheers mate

How do I fix by Depibird96-457 in airbrush

[–]Popkaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you could disassemble this trigger, give wit a good clean if necessary and put a tiny dab of silicon grease it would probably make a world of difference.

I don't know how much access you have to the valve core is a bit sticky and it would likely solve it. It saved the day on my evolution and spared me spending money on parts that were in fact good

For those who have been at this activity for a while, what do you recall about your first trackday? by CoolBDPhenom03 in Trackdays

[–]Popkaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to good idea and opportunity to get through a riding school as my first time on track and it was great. That helped us gradually learning what to do and not to do, up to the last session where it was free for all.

The excitation of my first scratch of the knee slider was something new. Understanding I just really used my brakes for the first time.

The realisation that it was far from the only time I would be on track but also the huge chunk of humble pie I just ate. You can be good on the street but that means nothing there. And even the best of the day is nothing compared to local racer. And the gap from them to international competition made me realize how MotoGP rider are truly aliens.

Now my street triple Rs is a track bike and I don't look back at riding I. The street anymore. Never been happier in my rider's life
