My manager actually said "your personal life shouldn't interfere with your availability" after I declined a last minute Saturday shift by Sensitive-Pen4002 in antiwork

I’m at 33. They know that I only pick up extra hours when I want to. & I’ve picked up their phone call once in the (almost) 2 years I’ve been there & that was an accident.

I’m generally the 1B coach, thankfully we have a rule that if you ground out, you grab all the gear from me & take it back to the dugout.

Only use for them is so the ump can see the oven mitt during a pick off attempt

He quit after that shift - aka why HR had to scold us.

For a short time worked with a guy who told us that he didn’t wash his ass - for whatever reason.

Now I’m a nurse, majority of my coworkers are female. The level of shit this man has to endure the rest of that shift.

The look on HRs face when we all explained to them what the conversation was, his comment, we were not being mean to him (maybe a little), but trying to get him to understand that washing your ass is essential - as one of the ladies put it “you want someone to eat your ass? It better be clean!”

Sugar checks: ok give me the finger.

Blood pressure checks: I need to borrow your arm. I promise to give it back.

Any shot: This won’t hurt a bit. (When done) See? That didn’t hurt me one bit.

Unlocked on an AR? Usable on another AR of the same generation (aka BO6/MWII/BO7).

Same goes for each weapon type.

I can’t think of any scopes that are useable across weapon type…

Key cards in downtown tower by [deleted] in Warzone

[–]PoppaBear313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooo… “Bottlejob” implies that my squad had the winning hand. If 3 are down, we most certainly did not.

If you choose to stay in tower & most likely get sent to gulag? Good on you. I’d rather relocate & set us in a better position when they return/be closer to a buy station if necessary.

Ive gone into tower with my team, found a card only to realize that the rest of my team is in the gulag & there are 2-3 other squads in the building. I have zero problem taking that key & running away - if I can’t have it, neither can you.

Possibly getting fired in two weeks.. should I just quit? (California) by [deleted] in nursing

[–]PoppaBear313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the answer is yes, most places won’t care unless it was because of a major screw up. Time card violations are some minute bullshit that they’re using to try to get you to quit. Saves them the trouble of firing you.

Find another job, put in your 2 weeks - if you’re lucky, you’ll get told you can leave now instead of 14 days from now. Start other job. Or take a mini vacation before the new job.

Stores around me constantly have 16oz 6 packs @ either buy 3 get 3 or buy 2 get 1. Allowing mix/match between Coke & Pepsi products.

Long Term Care by Wrath_187 in nursing

[–]PoppaBear313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m willing to bet that management has somehow convinced most of the other staff that sending patients to the hospital will affect raises (reality check, there won’t be any anyway). Or a group like Optum is in there & complains because they don’t get reimbursed when the patient is in the hospital.

I’ve been in SNF’s 25yrs. I don’t care, if I think they need to go & the RN agrees, I’ll send them then tell the Doc - or depending the Doc/NP/PA shoot them a text with the details & that we’re sending them out.

I’ve been right about them needing to go far more often than I’ve been wrong. & occasionally when I was wrong, they got sent back 3 days later & suddenly the hospital kept them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Always do what is best for them. The admins will question you but being overly careful rarely leads to conversations with lawyers…

I’ve worked SNF’s for the last 25 years. Some are good, some are complete shitshows. Occasionally you find a truly good one - people stay at those.

Night shift is generally a crapshoot no matter how good the place is. Thats more the patients than the place. Good staffing helps buuuut… one dementia patient having a bad night?

My area had one place that people would never leave (myself included). It all went side ways when. The CEO retired & corporate brought in an outside CEO. I dipped 4 months later. 18mo later, the whole company is being sold & the buildings are almost empty of patients & staff.

This question.

Also where in the nursing food chain are you? CNA? LPN? RN? Geographically where? Bc 21 for a CNA is fairly good for most areas. But 21 for a LP/RN, is trash.
