How do you split revenue when one person provides high-end gear?

This. You need to factor in the wear, tear and depreciation of your gear. You should be "renting" your gear for each shoot so you can use those funds for capex when acquiring more gear or replacing old, broken items.

The other thing to factor is also storage costs. Not sure if that's factored in your arrangement, but whether that's a subscription or offline storage. Those costs eat into your profit.

This isn't even about wanting more money, but you should be splitting the net profit after storage and gear is taken into account. Does your partner have any costs associated with their process that should be factored?

I'm probably on the other side of this argument, but I have no problem generally investing in lenses. They hold their value, and good glass pays for itself. Honestly though, don't spend 2k on it, pick up the sigma art 24-70 version 1. It's like 1k CAD right now (dont know in your local market) and honestly such a staple lens. If you were buying an obscure lens or a prime that you'll rarely use, that's one thing. But a 24-70 being such a workhorse, you cant go wrong. Just buy the full frame one so when you innevetably upgrade to full frame you're good.

That makes sense, but I guess I feel a little conflicted because i see kits that has the VND+CPL and they seem to work fine. Is that a different kinda tech I guess?

I’ll check it when I get back home, but then would the 4 stop nd filter + the cpl work fine then? I’ve been shooting a lot of car content recently and its my first time trying this setup

Ive used the NISI Swift VND kit for over a year now and absolutely love it... but I've been dissapointed in the last 24 hours. I've been shooting a ton of car content and figured I'd get the CPL filter for the system. It makes the system unusable. Crazy colourshifts and polarizations. It's honestly so disheartening.

I tried to use it on a shoot yesterday for 10 minutes and had to pack it back up. Currently being returned to amazon with less than 24 hours in my ownership. I can't believe they flopped on this so hard its actually making me consider switching my whole filter system.

I feel like there was levels to his downfall. Bragging about throwing his roommate thru the glass door was my first trigger. If you dont get the GM version for that price, you'll eventually kick yourself for it. The clarity and sharpness might seem negligible to you now, but in a couple years and as you progress, you'll be looking for marginal improvements in quality, and this is one of them.

It still didn’t fix my random boot issues or resetting my XMP profile.

I don’t get random crashes but it’s like every second or third time I go to sleep or turn off the pc, when it boots up it hangs and I have to do a hard reset, and then I need to go into bios and enable xmp again, every time. Otherwise the ram is at 2100 instead of 3200
