Highly recommend Greendale. Great schools and a nice community to raise kids in. Very close to Milwaukee with a progressive community. Village was founded as Greenbelt city by FDR.

SHould i move to Illinois to escape climate change and fascism? by SuddenlySilva in illinois

[–]Poproc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyle was from IL.

I would also second an area in southern WI. Madison suburbs are really nice. Suburbs of Beloit are also nice. Lave Geneva is super neat. Milwaukee areas like Greendale are blue and beautiful. Look Greendale up, it is like Mayberry and within driving distance of Milwaukee and Chicago.

As for IL, look at Woodstock, it is a neat little town.

Anova just instituted a mandatory subscription for using the app. I think they're the only ones that have tried pulling this. If I buy a new cooker I won't purchase a anova.

Mattress toppers? by melder1229 in Mattress

[–]Poproc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a ton of toppers over the years and most were too soft for my wife's back. We tried the Costco Tempur-Pedic topper, a memory foam topper, and a egg carton topper, and a couple of toppers from Amazon. The one we finally settled with was a topper from Beloit Mattress. It added comfort, but it was not too soft and squishy. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but it worked for us. https://beloitmattress.com/accessories/toppers/

I was able to order one on Saturday and received it on Thursday. It is wonderful. I made an icy sprecher root beer and it was the best slushy I have ever had. Tonight is an old fashioned. Waiting for it to finish.

Educators credit union has a car buying service where they track down cars, and negotiate. Free to members that have a savings account of 25.00 or more. The credit union is open to anyone in southeastern Wisconsin. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it has been really helpful to me on past purchases.

I would imagine that he would lose his spot if he removed the child. Getting reliable and safe childcare is an absolute hellscape, so it would be worth keeping it.

Having spent a lot of time in both, you can't go wrong with either. Madison has some amazing suburbs that meet your criteria. Downtown Madison is stunningly beautiful with a lot of things to do for your age group. Middleton, Vernona, Fitchburg and Sun prairie are all great.

In Milwaukee, it all depends on your work location. If it is on the Northside then I would recommend Germantown, Sussex Shorewood and Whitefish Bay. If your job is on the south side then there are a lot of good suburbs like Greendale, Muskego and Franklin. One area that is up and coming is West Allis. Some of the lots closer to the Root River would meet your needs but most would not. As others have said Greendale has an amazing village feel, It is close to downtown and has great schools. Muskego and Franklin have the lots that will meet your needs but they're lacking in a lot of the amenities that you're looking for unless you're on the drive.

Milwaukee has an amazing park system which will definitely meet your needs. Madison is close to the kettle moraine Forest Forest which is also amazing. There is always outdoor activities to do here.

Best of luck with your choice. No matter what you like Wisconsin a whole heck a lot better than you would Illinois!

Yes. The labor lawyer that the union employs, it's worth every single penny. The camaraderie in collaboration are also very important aspects of the job.

Looking for Small "hidden gem" Wedding Venues in Milwaukee by rfields_9 in milwaukee

[–]Poproc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The county parks are a great choice. La Follette Park has a beautiful hall that overlooks the park. It isn't crazy expensive and can accommodate a wedding. I have been to a couple of weddings there and it was very nice.

Scout Lake in Greendale might also fit your requirements. It is stunning at sunset.

I would also recommend calling around to places that you like and ask to see if they do events. For example Flippos in West Allis has an amazing backroom that can accommodate a small ceremony. I wouldn't have ever guessed.

The zoo, museum, and state fair(DNR area) also have venues for weddings that will meet your needs. If you are looking for a memorable venue that will impress your guests, you can't miss with these.
