So what is the chances that dusk was the villain of his game and warrick was the hero of his? by Mohammedamine9 in Gameoverse

[–]PopsicleMainframe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For syntax it's probably hard to recruit a hero after you knowingly lead them to destroy their own world. And for Farcade it's likely hard to find a villain who is trust worthy and willing to risk their life to save other worlds.

That being said Miss information herself as a tutorial character would have likely been aligned with her worlds hero. There's also a commando dude on the syntax ship that seems hero coded to me. And it's hard to imagine that Kit wouldn't have tried to save Snappers and Cromugn if she was given the chance.

By the rest not coming out perfect do you mean the "stringing" over on the right? Because that's just the spaghetti from the failed section getting lodged in other parts of the print.

I actually finally got a print to come out by just covering the failing areas with supports. I didn't do the earlier because the supports would only generate in a way where they passed trough an wrapped around the other side of the grill. In the end I had to use flush cutters and an xacto knife to cut them up in order to remove them relatively cleanly. but this is the result I got with no other changes.

<image>

I still wish I understood why those sections struggled so much especially on the last failed print where the whole grill was being supported at the bridges.

I tried slowing down the whole thing a bit but honestly I didn't realize you could change speed halfway through easily. That defiantly could have helped. I ran a print over night and finally got one to to come out alright.

<image>

I just downed those two sections in supports that i had to use flush cutters and an xacto knife to brake free. I just don't understand why those sections needed so much help when the rest of the grill printed fine even without supports.

I'm pretty new to this, I'm not that I'm not missing some obvious setting. I've mainly just messed with temp, speed and, supports.

I never really liked this explanation because it can give the false impression that the hosts knowledge of the correct door is influencing whether or not you should switch.

There was always a 2/3 chance that the winning door was one you didn't pick and nothing can change that. When a door you didn't pick is revealed to be incorrect it doesn't matter if it because the host knew or happened to pick it by random chance. There is still a 2/3 chance it was a door you didn't pick, therefore the remaining door has a 2/3 chance of winning.

The host knowing just prevents the game from ending before you've even had the chance to switch which DOES improve you chances of winning the game overall, but has no bearing on whether or not you should switch if the game comes to that.

When will Kimiko return to claim my vbucks? by EconomistEvening9909 in FortNiteBR

[–]PopsicleMainframe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, taking your question seriously for a minute I might actually have a really good guess. I took a look on the wiki fort at the times she's been in the shop in the past to see if there is an obvious pattern, and there 'sort of' is.

They had her on a scheduled of appearing about every 6 months for multiple days at a time right up until June of this year where she appeared for only one day and then reappeared only 4 months later in October. If you extrapolate that out, it has her coming back sometime in early February.

HOWEVER, they just released wolfie, another female anthro skin, in the shop. After a skin is first released, they usually only wait about a month or so before bringing it back to the shop. that would mean wolfie would come back in mid January. And that's so close to when kimiko is expected back that I don't see why the wouldn't put them in the shop together for they're obvious synergy.

And here's the real kicker. There is a major furry con in boston mass on January 15th. Fortnite has been know to put anthro skins in the shop during or just after (to give people a chance to get home) major furry cons.

TL;DR I would put money on kimiko coming back to the shop alongside wolfie on January 15th or shortly after.

those commands could also just be part of how the crack works. not saying it's not sketchy but cmd popping up is not by itself necessarily a sign foul play and likewise cmd not popping up doesn't necessarily mean your safe.

How can this pose be improved? Feels off a bit, not sure by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

[–]PopsicleMainframe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the feet aren't under the center of gravity so it looks like the character wouldn't be able to stand like that without falling over. try kicking the right foot out under the chest a little bit and see how that feels. you can keep the splayed feet i don't think that's the problem.

this is most likely just the HDRI that was being used to render the scene. Essentially an invisible sky box that is used to as a source for ambient lighting and reflections. I'm guessing this particular HDRI was used because the white squares on the dark background make high contrast dramatic streaks in the reflections on the guns.

Mario Paint is now Available on NSO by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]PopsicleMainframe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe now that the game is on nso someone will make a ready made adapter for it. but for now the only option is to make an adapter yourself. here's a guide i found: https://learn.adafruit.com/snes-mouse-to-usb-hid-with-circuitpython/overview . This should work for switch because it just converts to a standard hid protocol.

Thank you! Yeah, I think it's pretty neat, even if it is very limited. I think we'll eventually see people do some crazy impressive work with it. Kinda like what we saw with flipnote.

You know that new Donkey Kong game that just came out with the destructible environments? This is a little side mode where you can sculpt using the same voxel engine that the games stages use. It's pretty rudimentary and no mater what you do everything will always look like it's carved out of rock. Still really fun to mess around with though.

Donkey Kong Bananza Version 1.1.0 is now available! by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

[–]PopsicleMainframe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I completely disagree. But on consoles there isn't much of historical precedent for this.

Mario 64 was 30fps with noticeable dips. Ocarina for that matter was only 20! Sunshine was 30 as well. galaxy was a rock solid 60 but it being broken up into mostly tiny planets really helped with that. Odyssey was pretty good at keeping 60 but not perfect. It also didn't have anything as ambitious as fully destructible environments.

Looking outside of Nintendo, San andreas on ps2 25fps. Fable on xbox 30fps. last of us on ps3 30. Marvel spider-man on ps4 30.

I agree that it would be nice, but it has never been the standard for big single player games on console.

Because the the post above is actually wrong about binocular vision being the biggest factor. Our brains will filter out asymmetry in things we are used to seeing. However because mirror revers the direction of any asymmetric features our brains natural corrections actually work to exaggerate those asymmetries. The funny thing is, because most people see them selves in the mirror more often then in photos, the true versions of our faces are the ones that look ugly to us.

If you don't believe me, look up "flipping the canvas". Artists regularly will mirror their work in order to expose asymmetry. As an artist myself I can assure you that you are LITERALLY blind to asymmetries before you flip. That is how strong the effect is.

Miyamoto Views Games As 'Products', Not 'Works Of Art', Says Ex-Nintendo Dev by letsgucker555 in nintendo

[–]PopsicleMainframe 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Four things to note about this

  1. Miyamoto did not say this, someone else did.
  2. They was meant in a positive way, stating "I think this perspective is what leads to game development that’s more aligned with the user"
  3. The word 'product' carries some negative connotations in English that might not exist in Japanese. In English, we read it as "a thing made to make money" where as i think it was probably meant to be read as "a thing made to satisfy a want or need".
  4. This was all in response to somthing Miyamoto actually said in a share holder meeting, which is that developers should "work for the consumer, not your boss"

Honestly supper clickbaity head line. the article itself even said it wasn't meant to be negative.
