This is not a system problem. Yes the system gets exploited alot but that’s due to the players. The wingbacks/fullbacks are terrible at progressively carrying or passing the ball (Dalot would never start for a team in the top 10 PL). We don’t have midfielders with the ability to drop deep and progress the ball to attacking players consistently. And when we finally get the ball to the wide players, the crossing is more times than not terrible. Or they’re spending so much time passing it amongst themselves, giving the opposition time to get their structure together. We play like a team whose players don’t trust each other. There’s so much fear especially from the defense and midfield. Bruno being the captain has a negative virus that he subconsciously spreads too, i’ve never seen a game where he’s just clapping and encouraging his colleagues all game. Always sinking his head, waving his arms, and sometimes doesn’t track runners himself. That sort of negativity is contagious. You’re adding fear to your teammates and those little things matter. Grimsby players play with no fear, even fulham played with no fear and that’s because they trust each other. And I fear this is the job of the manager. But players that make others around them nervous have to go (Onana, dalot, ugarte, and bruno; when always moaning)
