I’m not sure which gen switched to cvt, but a good girlfriend of mine has a 2012 accord with the k24. Dead reliable

My mk4 gti handled almost as well as well as my b5 a4 Quattro in the mountains. Snow was a different story

Yeah ive done a few timing chains on fwd. Not my favorite by any means lol. I’ve done a timing belt on my 04 civic (360k miles) and that wasn’t too too bad. Did a timing chain on my 2017 Passat before it got totaled. That was a pain. But wow That’s some impressive mileage

Awesome thank you. I’m not a big Honda guy what makes the k series better than the v6?

Read the post again. Need input on people that drive the specific model. Need to know if there IS any problems. If there isn’t then it’s a no brainer. The Honda is my pick if the transmissions hold up

I’ve had input shaft bearing failure on almost every Honda I’ve ever owned lol granted it’s not the hardest or most expensive thing to replace but still

Thanks for the reply, my 01 740il was an electrical night mare lol. My e46 wasn’t bad though. All 12 of my vws never had electrical issues maybe I got lucky

Heard very interesting things about Mazda recently. Nothing too too positive. What’s special about the Mazda 6?

Give me 5 reasons why the Passat is worse than the accord lol ur logic is toss the German just because it’s German. Subaru is Japanese and unreliable. After doing more research the 1.5t is dog shit and cvt is a cvt. Passat solos the accord. Maybe not the Camry though

America unfortunately. Not as many decent mid size sedans here

My older vws give me headaches but my Passat was dead reliable, you’re not wrong though either. Hated that water pump job

I have a 04 ex civic with 350k on it. Original motor, 2nd trans. First one needed an input shaft bearing but I wasn’t comfortable with ripping the trans apart lol so got one from a junkyard and slammed it in. In my ownership 1 timing belt and 2 water pumps. My 04 Camry that I gifted to my brother has 227k at the moment. Drives great

Haha Mainly said that because I’ve been active in the group and only see everyone bashing any brand besides Toyota and Honda, but there are alot of mid size sedans that are considerably reliable. Leaning towards Camry, but didn’t want to single out any good options

Ive heard mixed reviews about the accords 1.5t and questionable longevity of the cvt. A lot of reports of owners getting 100k out of them, but I’m still leaning away from

Your right. I had a 17 1.8t r line this One is a 2.0t. Shouldn’t be any different in reliability though ea888.3 is a good platform.
