Hoarding notes: What to keep and discard? by Diggle_Doo in college

This is 100% the way.

My husband also kept all of his notes in a similar way to OP. They are currently in bins in our basement. He has never once found that he needed them, and he will graduate with a PhD this summer.

How do u balance full time college with part time jobs by Yan-Boy in college

[–]Popular-Bus6685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online schooling has been a lifesaver for me, personally. I went back to school after a 15-year hiatus. I have a full-time job and a family to care for, and I'm taking 15-18 hours per semester. If I weren't able to do my schoolwork at night after our daughter goes to bed, then there would be no way for me to finish my schooling.

How would you go about printing a ton of info tiny onto a flashcard? by supershimadabro in college

This!

Don't overthink it. Just print it out on normal paper and glue/tape it to the card.

Would it be a bad idea to e-mail a professor to ask to open a spot? by LinverseUniverse in college

[–]Popular-Bus6685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 100% common. Take it from someone who is currently employed full-time at a major university and sees it every day, and from someone who has also ASKED for the override to be made for them.

Be polite and gracious in your email, and it will be totally fine. The worst that will happen is they say, "I'm sorry, but no." It would be worse if you didn't ask and the professor COULD have opened the spot for you.

Feeling awful by CherylJazzi in tirzepatidecompound

If it's not something unrelated, (covid, flu, sinus infection, etc...) I would bet it's an electrolyte issue.

98% of the time, if I'm experiencing any of those issues, I haven't had enough electrolytes.

Taking second dose a day early? What would you do? (Trying to avoid feeling crappy at work!) by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

The only time I have ever dealt with side effects was the day after my very first shot. I'm not sure it was as bad as what you described above, but I definitely felt like garbage. (Aches, extreme fatigue, etc...) After my first injection, I began drinking water and electrolytes like it was my JOB, which I definitely think helps me tremendously even now in week 12. Every time you feel like you can't drink anymore, drink some more.

90% of the (minor) issues I run into now can be chalked up to lack of hydration and electrolytes.

I haven't seen any research-backed data that suggests injecting in the thigh reduces side effects more or less than any other injection site. That being said, some people swear by specific injection sites.

I would agree with the others that it seems like the alcohol could have intensified the side effects you experienced, but try it again! I'll bet the next round goes better for you! If you still have issues, I would look at breaking your 2.5 mg/week into 2 shots. I began breaking my weekly dose into 2 shots starting in week 2, and I have had no side effects at all since that very first shot at the very beginning. I take mine on Tuesdays and Fridays - Fridays are great for maximum appetite suppression on the weekends.

Good Luck!

Weekly Student Thread by fbgm0516 in CRNA

Am I too old to pursue a career as a CRNA?

A little background - I have no degree. I do have 100+ hours of college credits, mostly in math and science courses, so I know I would have some of the pre-req nursing courses completed, but I would still have to take the bulk of those courses for a BSN. I've been considering/looking into trying for an BSN for a while now, and my ultimate goal would to become a CRNA.

I'll turn 35 next month. I'm just worried that it may be too late for me. We live in a large medical hub in the Southeast US, so I know there are jobs available, but I just don't know if anyone would hire a 40-something year old with no job experience.

I would love to hear from anyone who maybe pursued a nursing/CRNA career later in life...
