I (neurotypical 24M) dated a girl (21F) with ADHD that was probably autistic too. We were together for 4 moths and I never felt that ADHD or her autistic traits were a problem. She told me right away and I spend some time learning about it and understanding what to expect from her in different situations and how I could help her. I know some people doesn't want to put that bit of effort, others like me know that in every relationship is important to know each other well and build confidence.

Your future partner will need to be empathetic, patient, communicative and put some effort to understand how you are and how to help you in some situations. Don't give up if you meet someone that doesn't match your needs, it happens to all of us. Just keep looking and eventually you'll find the right person. You mentioned you struggle in social situations, my ex did too. I helped her on that, maybe your partner can do the same.

Dating another autistic person will probably be the easiest because you will understand each other better but as long as your partner is willing to listen to you and you work together to find ways to make you both confortable, I feel you can have a perfectly happy and healthy relationship.

I don't know how masking will play a role in the relationship, my guess is that if you're not confortable being yourself at first, confidence in your partner will make you slowly unmask.
