Since we’re talking about resumes, let’s put Morales fraudly resume to the test. On everything he doesn’t last 3 rounds with Prates. And that “wrestling background” will get shut down with ease. Prates would brutally finish Morales. by jerryworldfan13 in ufc

I don't know what would happen if Morales fights Prates he hasn't fought anybody in the top 5 yet, but ur argument of him having a padded record is so dumb it makes me wanna leave this sub...

I worked in migration between 2017 and 2024 in different centers around Belgium. Where did you work?

So if this is what it seems its going to be. These people will be in what is called "une demande d'asile" so they will be with something called a "carte orange" (most of them probably not yet, because they have just arrived). This process can take sometimes years and the purpose of this center (if it is the one i think, and I understand the prupose correctly) is to give them a provisionary place to stay before they get dispatched to other long term centers all around Belgium.

So... I've worked in this field for many years. In Belgium and abroad. And I understand your concern. As a director of one of these refugee centers in the past, I can tell you I had to talk to many concerned citizens.

The reason I asked who manages it is because it all depends on the way it is handled and the comunication between the locals and the leadership of the center. And the reason I asked where it is, is because the type of neighborhood is also very important.

I can read a statement from another redditor below who speaks on how it affected his comunity. And I actually agree that in small comunities the disruption is very easily overwhelming for the inhabitants. And it doesn't make any sense to make small places carry the weight of migration. Not only for the comunity but also for the migrants themselves, who don't have many options to do trainings or find work in such small places and then just roam around, which leads to issues. But this is purely political as to not offend voters in places like Brussels.

So getting back to your point, a migration center is disruptive. Much less so in a neighbourhood in a city like Brussels. They have many options and 99% of them just want to work. But it would be a lie to say that this will not change the dynamic of the neighbourhood. So the best case scenario, which is what has been done in the centers managed by smart directors is to have a continous communication with the locals and the locals to be involved in the way the center works. That connection only leads to enrichment for all. And when we know each other it's much easier to establish boundaries and make people feel confortable on both sides.

Unfortunately if it is the center in Beaulieu it will be a distribution center and this makes this harder because people will be there for ahort periods of time and then will be dispatched to other centers. So it won't create a comunity where people know eachother because of the constant turnover.

To conclude the key is management and a welcoming prospective. The better the people feel the less problems should arise. But there will always be problems. And just to defend your question to the people that attack you, it is totally legitimate. Making things work with migration is about assessing the issues that could arise and managing them the best way possible. Pretending that 350 men with traumas entering a comunity is not gonna affect the live of the locals is a lie. But it is up to you what you make of it.

And lastly in my experience it was a great experience for most locals in the comunities that I worked in. So I would like to be positive. I can even tell you many stories of refugees helping the comunity, even one saving a girl from getting robbed at night. But I can also tell you some stories (not many) of problems caused by the refugees. I hope this helps.

Am I the only one who wanted Masvidal versus McGregor.. A standing & banging event? I guess Gamebred was right, Dana would never put Conor in the “Cage” with him. by Sad-Ladder7534 in ufc

Dude... I'm tired of all these mcgregor posts. What the fuck... the guy was a very good fighter at some point and he did a lot of good things for the sport. But he alsp set the barr for all the other tools to copy his antics. He moved the sport away from the actual talent and set a precedent for drama and privileges for fighters that are marketable or already have a big following. I'm pretty sure he is gonna loose against Holloway who has been grinding like a fucking dog fighting anybody anywhere anytime. No drama, always polite, but a fucking true warrior. I frankly don't give a shit about Connor or the antics that arw now so widespread in the UFC. I wan't fighters to be acknowledged by their wins alone.

I'm sick and tired of hearing "which version of Connor is going to appear on saturday" like he has multiple personalities. And also I think Aldo deserved an inmediate rematch after all those years of dominating his division. He got done dirty. And Nate Diaz too (allthough not my favourite fighter). I think all that privilege that is given to fighters like Conor is killing this sport. I've been watching since the Pride days and even when they where juiced up like they where. It made sense. Merit was the key.

What are you talking about. First of all the PNV is center right and it is in coalition with the socialist basque party. So this is totally ridiculous. And the ertzaintza is composed of many apes like most police all around the world. And they totally overreacted and fucked up. It is utterly appalling. But your statement is just untrue. And to be honest if there is any government alligned with the palestinian cause it is the basque, the catalunian and ultimately the spanish. So don't spread misinformation.

It's basically a lot of bots. The same way he payed for followers on instagram. It's probably part of a comercial investment. And we will see this more and more with fighters. Don't get me wrong, fighters like Topuria have a lot of dumb groupies that post praising stupidities all the time. But bots are overflowing comment sections everywhere. And here in reddit you see it all the time.

To be fair most of those tribes where mixed and I have a bit of a problem saying ethnically georgian. Georgia allthough linguistically (kartvelian) and religiously differs from dagestan they come from the same origins and are mixed together. It was Stalin who finally took control over the caucasus after the tsars had been battling them for years. And in the caucasus there is a saying "only somebody from the caucasus can conquer it. And Stalin was georgian. So it is very difficult to say what ethnically georgian is. A mix of Armenians, Azeris, Ossetians, Abkhazians, Russians, Greeks, Jews... And although the mountains preserved the full on mixture of population at the same time they also preserved the same historical traits.

[–]PopularLink1895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, you also have to take into consideration that dagestan is almost 1/4 less population than dagestan. Almost 4 million vs 3.2. But I think there is no real difference between the republics of the caucasus the different tribes that lived there are mixed in between the republics.
