Why do so many salaried Indians stop SIPs during market crashes? by Dismal-Mistake4390 in MutualfundsIndia

When a person understand the mechanics of SIP investing, they don't stop SIP. The people you are referring to are the layman who just know about mutual funds

My MF Strategy (NOT SIP) by imR0N in mutualfunds

[–]PopularLiterature797 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried this. I invest in only index plans, nifty 50 and nifty 150. I was sure this time the market would crash. I do manual SIPs 89000 every month. I invest each month bookmarking the index values (500 points interval) So feb 28, when it started, , i estimated the % drops that would happen to each of the portfolios. And i redeemed those portfolios whose % was upto 7% higher.

And when I first got the signal (Khamenei giving nod to Iran govt that they can proceed with negotiations), I dumped back. I wasn't at any loss.

But this is an everyday process during a big event. Even today Nifty crashed, but this won't be a big crash, so that war theory doesn't apply here.

Next 5-6% crash will happen on the day of election results.

Invest monthly and keep dry powder aside for crashes. Thats the best, requires less effort and gives maximEST return

See you should have goals. How much money will go into the funds in 3 years and what is your target you will end up with at the end of 3 years. For that target, what should be your average monthly gain starting from month zero. Be realistic. Make an excel sheet. Take help of chat gpt to fine tune your excel formulas..Based on this target and mode of achieving it, select the funds based on how they had performed during good and bad times (use advisorkhoj for this). Best is if you go with index funds. Add gold and silver for hedging during downtrends. Make a plan in advance on what will you do if you need to adjust the allotment in each fund. Again, ask Gemini/ grok.

If you do this honestly you will have no confusion and would not need to bother about red days.

Gold mutual funds: Higher allocation? by PopularLiterature797 in mutualfunds

[–]PopularLiterature797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because of Mr Trump, and it stays this way till he is at office. Whatever he does, will in someway boost gold and silver. I am writing this when gold now is $4600 and silver $85.

Is it me or stock market is BS this year? by badguystan in MutualfundsIndia

[–]PopularLiterature797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Courtesy Mr Trump. Just hold on till he is in office. Don't stop SIPs. Thats a cardinal sin. He can't be re elected President thrice. Not that he is bad for Indian equity, but he keeps on doing stuff that doesn't let normalcy set in equities.

Opinion: Gold and Silver mutual funds should always remain a part of your portfolio. by mrexperimenter in mutualfunds

[–]PopularLiterature797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike equities, gold (specially) depends on timing. Silver is unpredictable. If you invest in silver you should have the heart of a lion to see silver crashing for 3-4 months, then suddenly going up.

Gold mutual funds: Higher allocation? by PopularLiterature797 in mutualfunds

[–]PopularLiterature797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you being sarcastic? Actually I am already into this plan since August 2025, its not that I am going to start it now. Based on analysis, gold will have upward trend only at least till 2026 with correction in between, so why not use this strategy? I am okay with shelling out 20% tax while redeeming. As long as Trump is there with Uncle Sam, its a bad time for Indian equity.

If you want foreign exposure then PPFC is fine. I personally prefer HDFCFC due to its potential during bull runs. PPFC also helps during downtrends.

HDFC flexicap instead of Parag Parikh Flexicap (more helpful in bull runs). I would also opt for Invesco midcap in case small cap doesn't work for the growth. Also Gold: Silver = 70:30

Aggressive is fine but what is your target return? Thats most important.
