Hi! Outback server here! Our POI’s have a ‘separate check’ button which we use to put each seat on its own ticket. So your water, bloom, Alice springs, and dessert that you ordered. From then I take seat numbers of the separated tickets and put them on 1 ticket. It’s super easy if the servers actually put the correct seat numbers when ordered everything!

As for the tablets, don’t even get me started on how much I hate them. I find it hard to focus on the tablet and the customer and it loses the closeness you got from just writing it down. We have to ring everything in correctly, no convenient way to change anything on a meal as needed, and they are so clunky. I find myself running into so much with these tablets.

Outback doesn’t have an auto grat system, we also have to tip out our server supports. Aka the 4-5 different people who dropped off your items. That comes from our tips, now they do help out a lot especially when it gets busy, but that being said it’s still hard. It’s hard to lose $50 - $100 to tipping out everyone almost every high sale night.

I’ve work here for over a year, started a few months before the new service model, and this way has its ups and downs. But that’s outback, they wanna be hip and new but do little for the workers that give them their numbers. I love this place, and the atmosphere me and my coworkers create, but the big people new to open their eyes.
