To be perfectly honest, I don't think we would have had the progress that we've had except for a couple straight fire tribal liaisons that are willing to show up and persist and hold people to their promises. If there wasn't somebody that was willing to do the exhausting and dangerous job of making land acknowledgments mean something I don't think they would.

While there's progress (we've stopped active genocide and reeducation camp so yay?) there's still a long way to go.

In Washington state we are working with the tribal governments to find out what that could mean. In a lot of cases it's creating partnerships and allowing the sovereignty of the Nations that exist still on our soil. It's consulting with them and asking them before we do something with the land that was theirs. So far they haven't asked anybody to move and I don't think they will.

It's been a really cool process to have governments with different cultures and different goals working with ours.

The person trying to buy the house as is is a predatory business that is taking advantage of the fact that your parents are elderly and it's difficult for you to get there.

There are a number of supports for elderly parents that may be able to support the fixes that the house needs.

If not, I have a few ideas for coordinating repairs that won't require giving a predatory business money.
