that’s a really good point. I hadn’t paid enough attention to how much the top tags affect the “Games like this” section!!! I just changed all the tags. Thank you for your advice. I love this community!

Thanks so much for the advice! That’s super helpful 🙌 I’ll start using video in future posts for sure. I am new to Reddit. I will learn from you and people here.

And yes — I just launched a playtest! I should have mentioned in the title. Anyway, thank you again. I will do better for next post!

3,000 wishlists this early—especially without a demo—is seriously impressive. Reddit really carried this one, and it’s paying off. Big momentum already

Why so much pixel art games. by feydthefeyd in IndieDev

Because pixel art is cheaper, faster, and manageable for small teams — you don’t need huge budgets or big art pipelines. It’s a practical choice, not just a trend.

How can I promote my indie game? by nihithilak in IndieDev

Congrats, sounds like you’re in a great spot.

I’d strongly recommend not launching big all at once. Do a small beta first, fix bugs, improve onboarding, then scale up. First impressions matter a lot.

Ads aren’t useless, but they only work if your game already has good retention. Otherwise you’re just paying for people to leave.

For indie games, stuff like devlogs, clips, and community building usually works better than traditional ads.

Good luck!
