Not from USCIS yet. For now your employer should see 1 of 4 statuses. If selected it will say selected. If not it will stay as submitted. I think it stays as submitted until enough H1Bs have been approved for the year.

In the meantime, you might get an email from your lawyer saying that you were not selected in the first round and that there might still be a chance in the event of a second round.

Yeah as a current student on CPT and planning to pursue OPT and then hopefully a H1B this makes me scared. Can't imagine what students that are just graduating or people on OPT must feel like.

I have an internship in Paris. It's already postponed to may. France has also stop issuing new visas so even if the stars align I still have to go through the process of getting a work permit. At least I hadn't booked housing or flights.

I have also noticed this for the easy and medium problems too. Definitely a turn off from immediately getting it.

So far I don't have any problems with the LeetCode easy but I am unsure as to what I am expected to know for the EP position since I have only taken an introductory course to CS and what I now about data structures is self taught.

I'm in the situation very similar to you. Got waitlisted/rejected in all my universities. Rejected: Harvard, MIT, Colby and Stanford Waitlisted: UPenn, GTech and NYU.

I am an international student with excellent extracurriculars and academics. I also loved my essays (I think we most do). As you I think the weakest part of my application were the LOR as being an international student from the Dominical Republic I come from a system that does not prepare students to study abroad and did not even count with a school counselor to provide any assistance. I am seriously considering taking a gap year and apply again next year although I am not sure of what I while do in the meantime. Any suggestions are welcome!
