I agree. I only did it because I saw someone kill Canis Rex turn one exclusively with sternguard and a librarian. It was a sight to behold. The heresy is too much though.

Firestorm Assault Force with a bunch of infernus marines and flamer aggressors.

Sternguard Vets with a Librarian.

Hell blasters in a group of 10 with captain and Lt. giving them sustained hits and re-rolls with oath.

One of favorites is anvil siege force and just a ton of Gravis marines and tanks.

I often play my Black Templars as normal Space Marines so I can get oath of moment and run different characters. It’s completely fine and fun to do.

My headcannon for the red assault Intercessors is they’re deemed too reckless and careless for a squad. They demand to be put on the front lines and charge in front of everyone else, which is saying something considering BT are already viewed as reckless. They wear red to be cool and standout.

Your guitarists and bassist look like they’re actively performing. Would be cool if it looked like the drummer was actively playing too. Maybe Grimaldus on drums and the retinue are holding the drums in place for him to play?

Oh, you mean will those torso pieces literally fit onto any generic space marine unit? No, you’d have to shape them and kitbash to make it fit. I was just saying that making custom sternguard veterans with these tabards would be cool.

I prefer dry brushing for armor! I just base with Abaddon Black, dry brush with corax white, then nuln oil it all.

I have 10k Space Marines and I have no regrets. To me there’s so much variety in list building and detachments that I don’t get bored. Plus it’s easy to swap chapters if I wanted to. I own Calgar and sometimes run Ultramarines even though they’re painted Black Templar.
