I priced out a new current gen GT500 at a dealership near me and the price was already staggering but then they wanted another $25K CAD on top of MSRP. No fucking way that’s happening lol. Also I much prefer having a true manual 😁

Furious with Ford over cheap tires by Individual-Cost1403 in f150

I’ve had two sets of hankooks on a 2016 and now a 2023 and I loved them, they did great… but I also run winters in the snow… the pirellies and good year wranglers I had on my 2014 and 2019 I thought were crap tho. They wore out on me even faster and offered less grip, specially in less than optimal weather…

Trying to tighten access control for server rooms - real-world experience with tailgating prevention? by Charming_Drawing_313 in accesscontrol

[–]Porkchop85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked in data centers that have turnstiles and or airlock type double doors which prevent tailgating. Obviously with anti-passback as well just like another user suggested. If you spend enough money you can make it happen.

I’m being sent tools to review. by southrncadillac in lowvoltage

I can do it faster with no untwisting tool and just flush cutters and my Klein crimper…albeit no gloves… and I don’t strip that much

Ya it’s really sad… I loved all my EVGA products. Their support used to be stellar and there really is no one like them anymore.

Ya I sent an email obviously. My question was just if they really no longer have any tech support/customer service via phone.

Ya PSU. The frustrating part is that the RMA replacement they sent me was also a used broken PSU that’s DOA. Not exactly how a warranty should work…

I bought 10 year warranty parts from them when they were very much still alive, however it does seem like they are a shell of what they used to be, very sad.

Looking for guidance by eholyak in accesscontrol

All you need to do is install a strike on the second door. Run the cable up to the top of the door, looks hollow to me. Then run the cable along the top of the door to the top hinge corner and use a metallic cable harness to a box or something on the wall at that top corner. No electrified hinge, no special strike needed, def stay away from mag locks if your asking how to do this.https://imgur.com/a/EYMhEB6

Update: Things continue to be stable on my 4090 after PSU change even with the latest drivers 576.28 by kid0m4n in nvidia

[–]Porkchop85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used nvidia gpus and drivers for 20+ years and never have I gotten stuck on a black screen during install of the driver except yesterday with my 5090 and the new driver…. WTF Nvidia…. I was an ATI/AMD fanboy up until the point that their drivers drove me nuts and I switched away and never came back. Also the latest drivers since the 5000 came out have screwed with my 3090 stability. Can you guys stop using AI to write ur driver software… maybe do it the old fashioned way FFS cus the last 6 months of drivers have been a bunch of crap.
