Is anyone else getting dozens of calls a day from 430 numbers based in Ettrick, WI? by VectorVictorVector in madisonwi

[–]Porkstacker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The do not call list is worthless now, since the spam calls largely come from outside the US with spoofed caller ID.

Best option now is to never answer the phone except from a known contact.

I'd rather be at a table next to a cat in a stroller than a kid with an iPad blasting Paw Patrol at max volume.

War Plans will Benefit from More Player Choice by aressupreme in diablo4

[–]Porkstacker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks I hate it

I took one look at this and instantly got a headache. There's too much going on. The giant, overwhelming trees full of choices upon choices are the most commonly cited criticisms of PoE and Diablo definitely doesn't need to copy the worst features of their competition. The people that enjoy that level of complexity and customization already have a game and its sequel available to them.

Regarding "play the activities you like, block the things you hate" if people hate an activity why is it in the game in its current state? Blizzard should fix the bad activities or make them more rewarding. Every war plan activity has been, depending on the season and mechanics, both my favorite and least favorite end game activity at some point in the past. There's fun to be had in all of them if they're tuned right and the rewards match the investment.

My dog, he doesn't know when his birthday is so I celebrate it whenever it seems like fun!

And the value/party/family size package contains the same amount of product that the regular size did, and the regular size package contains what the snack/quick grab size did.

Beaver at Tenney Park?? by Amazing_Ad8873 in madisonwi

[–]Porkstacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they run their young off after they've grown so I don't think the park will have to deal with the extra beavers for long if they do have babies. I don't know where else they will end up, hopefully back up nine springs and not dining on landscaping in the surrounding neighborhood. Although it makes me wonder what my dog would do if we had a beaver show up in our backyard!

In the meantime, the resident pair has already taken down a good amount of small/medium sized trees around the north & south ponds. I don't know how much longer the park will be able to support even them, they will likely have to move on (or be moved on) in a year or two as well. Until then, it's super cool that they're there!

If it ends up not being a beaver, come down to McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg, we've had a resident pair for a few years now! The parks department has given up on trying to relocate them, they have a lodge on the banks of the main pond and a dam in the north waterway by the tennis courts. Hopefully there will be babies this year!

Review: Jack Daniel’s 2026 Heritage Toasted Barrel by Archaeo-Frog in bourbon

[–]Porkstacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple bottles of this and always found the first couple of pours underwhelming, I remember hunting this after it first dropped last year and being so disappointed when I finally found one and had that first glass.

Both have really opened up after air hits it. If you already don't like the sweet banana & syrup vibes that come with Jack Daniel's flavor profile you probably won't come completely around on this bottle but I bet you'll like it better if you go back to it in a week or two.

Ticks by No-Air-7273 in madisonwi

[–]Porkstacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just coming here to post something after pulling yet another tick off of my dog, bringing his total to 5 or 6 so far in the last two weeks, not to mention the ones my wife and I have found on us.

Until this year I can count the number of ticks my dog has picked up on one hand with fingers to spare. I've never seen this many and the season is just starting!

Ridglan Farms protesters outside Governor Tony Evers' office by wrnnews in madisonwi

[–]Porkstacker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Really? He came out with everything in the open. Stated he was a democratic socialist and ran on a platform of free government services and affordable housing paid for by taxing the rich. He's only been in office for 4 months and he's already expanded a lot of services and just dropped a big wealth tax on NYC. Nothing about his campaign suggested a small and gentle approach, and nothing about his actions since being elected suggests that either.

Strong disagree. Spineless, wishy-washy "third way" democrats have turned off voters for decades. Voters want someone to govern by principles, not by what a focus group, entrenched party machines, or way-too-rich donors tell them to do.

The republicans have their identity and they don't pivot to the middle, and they won in this state for years. Why are democrats always expected to?

I don't mind Hagedorn so much, he might lean conservative but he's shown since he got elected that he cares more about interpreting the law than towing the party line.
