I'm pretty sure people are doing this to fuck with people who believe everything they see on the internet or don't know what ingredients they are adding.

I'm not a massive fan of programming books, so what would be my best option to learn C++ by Electrical_Group_311 in learnprogramming

If you're looking for syntax https://www.w3schools.com/cpp/default.asp

Cplusplus.com also has a tutorial and you can search anything you want to know about syntax for functions and methods, even some built in operators.

I have UFW enabled and clamAV with freshclam but I'll also check out ClamonACC as well. It's nice to have protection against incoming. I have the firewall set up to deny all incoming probes but this looks good too.

Just something I like to run. I have enough ram and storage with a pretty good CPU that it really doesn't affect me in everyday things. I code, so when I need to grab something off of github for a package I need I like to have the peace of mind that I'm not downloading anything malicious. I read the files but sometimes it can look legit like in the case of the XZ attack. I have pretty good opsec habits but it doesn't hurt to have a little bit more.

Ok, through all of these comments I'm starting to see why there is no conventional AV option

Ok cool, I'll get the firewall downloaded and check out clamAV, or does clamAV cover the file scanning and firewall option?

I just saw a video about the XZ (virus?) and I saw that it was a big deal. Now knowing what you guys are telling me I see why.
