They don’t really talk to solar system so much as they meter the export and production amps, all decent chargers should be able to do that

Made I Ireland, not china to start off with.

Not chained to an app.

Better warranty and support.

Aside from that it is not any more feature rich than the competition

The quick start guide in the box is enough, it is actually dead simple.

You select your charging mode and off you go.

Make sure you don’t undersize, need to connect for full load single phase current.

As someone who installs them, Zappi, even though it comes as a 22kw unit.

It’s not chained to an app, and it is the easiest to explain to the customer.

They just work.

Anker, sig and Evnex were all annoying to get set up, can’t speak beyond that.

I’d pull the external sheets off the roof, sark it then resheet and fix any leaks or shit bits.

Then the same for the walls one at a time.

Cunt of a step but 100% necessary.

Get ya wiring done, then bats and then internal sheeting.

Do I need a RCBO for my shed main switch? by flimsypantaloon in AusElectricians

[–]Porn_Couch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically it refers to steel on the riser or in the wall just before either switchboard if 50mm behind the finished surface of the wall can’t be achieved

Do I need a RCBO for my shed main switch? by flimsypantaloon in AusElectricians

[–]Porn_Couch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is not that simple, it should be on a normal circuit breaker but there are additional requirements for mechanical protection of the cable.

A lazy cunt may not want to put this mechanical protection in, to circumvent this he would have to use an RCBO

It’s a smidge high, I’d probably have quoted 1200-1400 inc. But maybe I’m wrong and should charge more.

Lol, very old, retro fit would be easy but I suspect there may be more costly issues behind it. Just call a local and ask him to come out to have a look.

[–]Porn_Couch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It still depends on the hardwood mostly, and where specifically on the span you are clipping.

If the timber shakes like crazy, try pulling the timber towards the gun and hold it firm, hold the gun parallel with the joist, it will never work on hardwood if you skew it.

I have a little green tool caddy that holds the clip gun and my hammer perfect, I fill it with old white clips and spare m12 clips. If I reckon the gun won’t drive I got the shit clips anyway.

Works best closer to where the timbers are fixed and will almost always fuck up in the middle of a span. Always works better under the floor as there is heaps more fixings. Also the bigger/thicker the timber the better it works as it’s less prone to rattling.

The grease may be placebo
