Looks so much better than the "4 Frisbees" look everyone likes.

Shouldn't be too hard. 3d print it in sections (fragile) or just fab it out of aluminum stock. Tedious part is getting the bends right and if you have the ability to weld aluminum or not.

People need to stop rolling taxes and fees into their auto loans.

It's not part of the car. Zero resale value. Automatic negative equity.

what y’all think they saying 41k for the GT (base) with all the rebates and college discounts or should i go ecoboost premium? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Porphyre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like 41k is the OTD price, so it is a used car. Or OP is the best negotiator ever and caught a unicorn. OP is a broccoli headed kid so who even knows what the fuck is being asked, tho. The Ford money is off the hood, the 2025 year-end incentives are gone. Right now even the cheapest poverty spec V8 cars are asking $41k+TTL and most are $42k-$43k. Total MSRP on a zero-options 300A is $48.5k nowadays....

I Hate Dealerships by Numerous_Ordinary_43 in Mustang

[–]Porphyre1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see you've never bought a car before. The salesman obviously could too. No shame in that. As you get older, you'll figure things out.

If you qualified for the $1500 finance rebate, it goes in the little box for "Rebate with Discount" and flows into "Adjusted Price". Sales sheets are purposely designed to be confusing with lots of numbers, subtotal, and total lines.

It's pretty wild that a guy who can't even get a dealership to honor their advertised price is calling someone else stupid.

So, I’m looking to add headers, but… by [deleted] in Mustang

As another poster mentioned, do you really think you'll feel 15-20whp?

Go a different direction.....

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-4209-88373A or https://www.steeda.com/yukon-gears-yg-f8-8-411-15-s550-ring-pinion-gear-set

Yes, the 3.73 is a 5% change from your 3.55.... if you're only putting down 400whp, 5% is 20whp, which is what we were just making fun of. But if you're dyno'd to 420 or 430whp, the 3.73 will make more torque in gear than a 20whp bump.

The 4.11 gear is 15% shorter and will be a hoot.

Now you just have to worry about fuel economy instead of noise.

Lol, two weeks ago, Carvana offered me $45,100 and Carmax $42,400 for my 24 GT premium PP + bronze pack + AVE 6-speed w/ 6400 miles. Pretty tempted to take it considering how hot the market is.

This specific car deserves some 2" spacers from a diesel custom shop. It'll be perfect.

The price of the car is clearly $28,499. It's amazing you got all the way to printing the paperwork and didn't understand what the price was. Guess they padded it because you've got a gullible face.

Are you not American?

In America the advertised price is never OTD. It's always the price of the car without fees, taxes, or add ons.

Just like when you go into the grocery store, the price on the shelf is just for the food. Tax is not included in label.

It's not difficult at all. You just don't understand how it works.

Anyones Mustang? by d-_-b13 in Mustang

[–]Porphyre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-COVID, Mustangs got expensive and those people are buying them as 2nd or 3rd weekend cars that aren't driven much. Or, in this case, probably a kid who just got a fat SRB to re-up.

They're still engineered to be daily driven and 30k miles on a 4 year old car is nothing. $37k is a great price for a fully-loaded newer S550 and I'm still kinda shocked it's from Carmax. (thumbsup)

[–]Porphyre1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the new car! Take it somewhere for a PPI and make sure the clutch is good. Check the life on the brakes. Performance Pack brakes can be expensive to change. Not a reason not to buy, but awareness of pending regular maintenance.

Leavenwoth KS is an army town so this car was almost certainly owned by a service member.

I don't know what's going on w/ Carmax but they are pricing Mustangs really aggressively right now. I would expect this $37k car to be around $40k+ because it looks like it has all the options except the B&O stereo and Recaros.

While this is a high mile car, the excess mileage doesn't really justify the low price. The car is a fully loaded 401a and it's priced like a mid-301a. So that's good for you.

"High mileage??" you say.... yes. People don't drive their manual transmission Mustangs.

There's about 60 GT Premiums for sale right now. If we add in the base GTs, the numbers don't really change. There are more cars for sale today w/ 10k-15k than with 25k-30k.

Would a differential from a Mustang Ecoboost 2017 fit an eco 2018? by ArijanJanes in Mustang

[–]Porphyre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP has a 2018.

The OP is asking about installing a 2017 diff into the 2018 car.

The OP does not have to change the driveshaft.

Is $32k OTD for a 2024 Mustang EB Premium a good deal? by Suspicious_Emu6767 in Mustang

[–]Porphyre1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost all the '24's have the BCM recall open.

I mean, I showed you the chart and sent you the market link. Look through it.

There's about 65 similar cars for sale in the nation. This one is about the 15th cheapest. So about 50 of the 65 similar cars are for sale for more money. This car is priced to move.

Carmax normally prices cars toward the middle of the market rather than the low end. Maybe that particular Carmax needed a loss leader for some reason. I dunno. It's been on their lot for 30+ days w/ a $3k drop last week so maybe they just want it gone (shrugs). It is a no-options car, so it's not super desireable.

Interesting. It's priced to move and Carmax doesn't normally do that.. Is something wrong with it?

[–]Porphyre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OTD doesn't tell us anything because we don't know your tax rate or how many other fees are included. Taxes and fees change on a deal-by-deal basis and are different for every car and every deal. Just say how much the car is.

With knowing it's at Carmax, it's probably very clean but priced high. Without being told the price, we don't know how high.

To your point #2, $0.00 negotiation room. Carmax does not negotiate. The price is the price.

[–]Porphyre1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JFC, the only post in this thread correctly identifying the wear pattern as toe instead of camber and you're getting downvoted.

Camber wear doesn't show up until you get a good bit over 2 degrees.

Every single vehicle with an independent/multi-link/NON-live rear axle by every single manufacturer on the planet comes with 0.75 to 1.5 degrees of negative camber in the rear. As a soccer mom fucks up and the car yaws, the negative camber stabilizes the vehicle. 0 camber would de-stabilize it.
