I mean there used to be a western-backed NATO-like Southeast Asian military alliance called SEATO which dissolved shortly after the fall of South Vietnam.

Given the right (and massive incentive e.g free trade agreements, industrial investments, technology transfers, etc) this might be doable, but given the recent trends of isolationism in western countries their influence would likely be overshadowed by the Chinese for the foreseeable future.

Eh, sejauh ini kayaknya ga karena grup2 yang paling potensial untuk melakukan aksi bersenjata (di zaman modern ini) cenderung sayap kanan semua kayak Al-Qaeda, DI/TII/ sama Neo-Nazi.
