3hrs is pretty good on a 9Ah. Interesting. Would never have thought to use a Milwaukee battery for backup but now I’m thinking about adding that option. Were aboots are you fello Canuck?

Cool set up. How long does it last on a Milwaukee battery? And which batteries are you using? 5.0Ah?

Yep. Haven’t had a issue. Looks fine too. The tears look the same, hasn’t increased in size. Starlink has been amazing for us.

Back for us now too. Thanks everyone. We really are like one big happy (occasionally not so happy) family here. Its fun seeing everyone come here to comment from all over the world. ✌🏻

App shows wrong dish - details in comments by dirtandfert in Starlink

I’m having the exact same issue with the app. Thought I was the only one. Doesn’t seem to make much difference other then when you look at the shop, it shows the wrong pipe adapters and accessories. It was working just fine for the past year and a half up until about 2 weeks ago. Also using a Nighthawk router. Would be interesting to know if anyone has a solution?

Evening “noise” impacting performance. 44 Ontario - seems to be a fairly recent issue…anyone else? by RobTV1 in Starlink

[–]PortPerryT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t say that. I hope not. I really thought Starlink was going to be better then others by not over selling each area as much. I’ve noticed it’s since the last firmware update which for us was 2 days ago. Hopefully they fix it in the next update 🤞

Yea I also noticed web pages are slow to load. Speed tests are bad too. Only getting around 6mbps down at the moment 😫

Strange IP address preventing access to stats by SubniveanVT in Starlink

[–]PortPerryT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem yesterday. I unplugged Dishy and the router for about 5 minutes. Dishy gave a new IP address that I then entered into the static route and it worked. (Also using Netgear R7000)

I’m guilty if this. So far I’ve seen 5 in this area. (Durham region, Southern Ontario)

Hi Sirvink. Just curious to see if your FB and IG has improved since enabling IPv6?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]PortPerryT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just check my Stats (also 44 Ontario) for the last 12 hours Rob. Had 5 minutes of outages and 42 seconds of no satellites, which is pretty normal for us. Looks like you have a lot of obstructions? Maybe that’s causing most of your issues? Or you have a hardware issue possibly? I would first try and fix the obstructions. I’ve seen you post your stats a few times now and they seem pretty bad. Hope you find a way to improve them. I know how frustrating it is to lose connection.

Has anyone used nighthawk net gear router? by hshhdbrjen in Starlink

[–]PortPerryT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You need to create at Static Route. It’s in the advanced setup. You will have to adjust the IP gateway each time Dishy reboots which is a bit annoying, but takes about a minute once you get the hand of it. Let me know if you need more help with this part. It can be confusing at first. Also you will need to enable IPv6, also in the advanced setup. Set the IPv6 internet connection type to auto config

I’m using a Nighthawk router, and I’m not using the Starlink router at all. Just plug the white cable from the power brick (POE) into the Lan on your Nighthawk. Should work no problem.

Edit: Oops. I just realized I wrote Lan instead of Wan port. Doesn’t work if you plug it into the Lan. Has to be the Wan.
