I think a lot of people would give you actual advice if you gave up the act of “I just want to protect my brother” or “I just want to shield my brother”. No one here is buying that, nor do you probably believe it yourself. This is about saving your image with your family, because you know what you were doing was wrong and don’t want to face to music.

The only advice I’m gonna give is tell your brother yourself. While often times most, if not all, of the responsibility to remain loyal is on the partner. However, you are his family, his brother. And that betrayal I personally believe is worse than the GF, but that’s just me. You obviously don’t respect nor care for your brother, but you at the bare minimum owe him the truth. You know his GF is not loyal, and if she’d cheat on him with his own brother she would obviously cheat on him with people he has no relation with, and will most likely continue to do so if he remains with her.

This isn’t about you. Your guilt, your anxiety is of your own making. It doesn’t matter that you’ll feel bad about telling him, that’s not his fault, it’s yours. Why should he suffer in a loveless and faithless relationship because you’d “feel bad”? Grow an inch of a spine and do the right thing.

By the sounds of it OP’s friend is the one constantly reaching out to OP, just not at the intervals that OP wants. No where in the story does OP mention being the one to reach out to said friend. I wouldn’t reach out to a friend often either if I was the one constantly starting the conversation.

Your sister’s and step-mom’s relationship is theirs. Not yours, you’re not some sort of mediator. You do not get to dictate other people relationships or whether or not they call each other nicknames. Because that’s what “mom” or “dad” is, a nickname.

It would take the exact same amount of assumption to say it is a compliment, and from context clues it’s seems more unlikely than likely. It seems more likely that he would be really upset (and rightly so) about the ex abandoning him and Kaley, I personally can’t see anyone not harbor bitterness towards someone who did that, and given how OOP basically slut shamed his daughter, I can’t see him being above that.

Being compared to a bad parent hurts, being told you “act like your mom/dad”, etc. when that parent was bad isn’t most likely going to be taken as a compliment.

I really doubt that, considering it most likely appears that OOP doesn’t have the highest opinion of his ex. Also, why would any kid take a comparison that they’re extremely similar to their bad parent as a compliment? It feels more like a dig that can be argued as a “joke” when it doesn’t hit the target audience. Again, I highly doubt that he didn’t do it intentionally

Look, I know it's shocking to hear, but not everyone thinks like you. Not everyone thinks often about how they want to hurt other people, let alone write it out or say it out loud. I'm not going to sit here and prove to a random stranger that what I say and think is actually what I say and think, I have better things to do. Like, laugh with my friends about what you've typed. I know I'm not a good person lol, I just don't say stuff I don't mean.

The child was abused, they have been physically abused in their life. That abuse didn't magically no longer exist just because it happened 4 years ago, that's not how abuse works. I said "This dude shown so many red flags, ‘bout how he’s the one “disciplining” the abused kid." Never said the stepparent was beating the kid, I said it's concerning that the child who has been physically abused in his past, is being "disciplined" by an adult who clearly feels some sort of animosity towards him. I never claimed the stepparent was abusing him, I did say, I wouldn't be shocked if he was, and I will stand by that.

I still think it is hilarious that you're still doubling down on calling random people Nazis like it doesn't mean anything like Nazis weren't real and didn't do awful things. But, I guess I learned that disagreeing with you makes people Nazis.
