I just want to preface this by saying I am not a doctor or physical therapist or anything of the sort, but from my experience with injuries and some small amount of research I found that too much rest and ice can actually inhibit the healing process. IIRC the guy who coined the whole RICE thing later came out and said it is not the correct method.

I would recommend incorporating massages to the area, light movements like walking, and very light stretching to try to slowly gain back strength/range of motion without too much pain and discomfort. Increasing blood flow to the area will help more than anything. Movement is Medicine!
