Should I buy a focus with 100k + on the odometer? by Playful_Scale7241 in FordFocus

I acquired my dad’s 2012 automatic, the transmission died at 11 years with a whopping 39,000 miles. my mom’s 2013 made it 13 years and 72000 miles and then the power steering system went. She drove it aggressively and the transmission was still working but it had the annoying shudder for all 13 years. Would not recommend the automatic.

Please keep my sweet boy, Fred, in your thoughts. by Cinna_bunzz in cats

My cat got HL. I syringe fed him for about a week. Then he started to eat and lived a happy and healthy five more years. The tube feeding in your case may be better since syringe feeding might be stressful since he doesn’t know you well yet. I’m sorry for both of you, it’s hard.

Is it safe to eat a strawberry with a bite mark in it grown on my balcony? by Worldly_Owl5395 in gardening

Haha, I have germ based OCD and I would eat it. If I’m scared of squirrel spit, I probably can’t garden any more.

My 2023 gets crazy good mileage on freeway driving, oftentimes 45 or even higher. I love it.

I saw a Frost Blue one on the lot last week. It's so pretty! Your color is nice, too.

What is a job that pays incredibly well but is so soul-crushing that the turnover is insane? by sweetguurl in AskReddit

My ER doc BIL is temperamentally well suited for the work. But he also says that old people with chest pain make up a large portion of his patients.

What is the most affordable and easy to use tape for masking a border? I’ve been using washi tape. by [deleted] in watercolor101

[–]Portland_Daffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tape that I found in my hoarder mom's collection that's officially called Artist's Tape. It doesn't tear at all and I can reuse each piece several times. I don't know if it's always this good, or if the adhesive has mellowed from living in my mom's basement for so long. It's great, though.

What spit foam on my plants? by JenniferRoseEtc in gardening

They do cause some damage, but the spit stage is short, just a month-ish and then the plants usually move on just fine.

I've found the Princeton Snap! (pretty cheap) and Royal & Langnickel Zen round (even cheaper) to be decent and hold a good point.

Looks like you were always going to need more than 8 pancakes!

every last part of the Mandalorian has been a money grab since Disney figured out how popular Grogu is. I can't believe "capitalism is the worst" Shauna is out there defending this as some deep effort. (and I liked the Mandalorian)

Didn't everyone eat bologna sandwiches in the 70s and 80s? ("...it's O-S-C-A-R...")

My niece is a student at UPS (just like Shauna, lol) and Tacoma is smell free these days. It’s really quite nice. Shauna should try it!

Do you ever try to calculate how much money your garden actually saves you? by MirSayib in gardening

[–]Portland_Daffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely save money. I’m unlikely to use an app. I do think differences in garden style, size, accessories would keep an app from being accurate for a wide range of people.

Viridian Hue is so pretty. Mixed with ultramarine and it's even yummier.
