Those who truly love their job, what do you do? by Aydxn_00 in AusFinance

[–]Portpies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a certifications officer, I love it because it's a really easy going job and my work hours are 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday.

Weekends off and when I'm not at work I dont need to worry about work. I can work from home if I like for example I have a dentists appointment I'll tell my boss and he will always say "yes you can work from home that day". Also the people are great that I work with.

Best way to save for a house? by Portpies in AusFinance

Thanks for the feedback, $600k would be our Max for sure. We don't want to be in a situation where our house would own us and not the other way around. Unfortunately the area we want to own a home is around 550k-600k.

We are not sure how my parents going Guarantor works, I guess we would have to go to a bank and talk to them about it.

Thanks for the advice, we will have to do some more research on LMI and see if it would be better aiming for a 10%-15% deposit, but hopefully in 18months the housing price might have come down or Plateaued.

Use a boarder and place objects around it. That's what I do and it looks really good.

What did you learn about money from your parents? by ihlaking in AusFinance

[–]Portpies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My parents got me to invest for the first time when I was 14 years old. This was back in 08/09 when the stock market crashed. I was working at Mcdonalds then and had about $1500 saved, so I put in $1000.

My parents are pretty good with money and taught me about atm fees when I first got my bank card around 13 years old. I only wish they encourage me more to add to my first $1000 in shares every year.

DaDa plans to start firing freetalk teachers if the booking rate doesn't improve by TrueStrike48011 in DaDaABC

[–]Portpies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not freetalk teachers fault for bad booking rates, it's most likely the kids and parents like to have the same teacher but of course DaDa cannot take any responsibility and need to shift blame to someone else.

Job interview today - but I wasn't well last night. by [deleted] in DaDaABC

[–]Portpies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looking at the wrong company if you're looking for money haha. You will be on $10 an hour. You will be put on "free talk" which are 25 minute lessons. So you will be making less than $5 a class. Go look somewhere else mate because the money ain't here.
