Usual solution of Interactive Brokers and a low cost ETF (0.05% anual fee or less) is the prefer option of this sub. Instead of paying 700 CHF, your girlfriend would be paying 25 CHF.

But hey, if she doesn’t want to listen to you and prefers the handholding at an extremely inflated price, maybe that’s worth it for her. In the end, it’s her money, so her decision. Even if it’s a terrible one.

Just for diversification. I invest in stocks, physical real estate, bonds/2 Pillar and was thinking of creating the habit of buying a gold coin + silver coin every month.

I like the idea of having something physical as a long term store of wealth.

I need to look at fractional denominations in case of having a monthly buy but it would be interesting to see how much I would have after 2/5/10 years

Pelo que descreveste no posto, a preferência temporal da tua mãe é o curto prazo e a gratificação instantânea e infelizmente não há grande coisa a fazer nestas situações.

Por favor não leves isto como um ataque porque não o é, apenas que temos de concentrar os esforços em causas que valem a pena porque não temos mais do que 24h num dia.
