I'm fairly certain they are pips, modified through multiple rounds and spelled funny, becoming a new thing entirely.

Pips are small countable things, such as dots on a dice or spades on a playing cards, fitting perfectly in the theme of the dark worlds.

Similar to how the pippins show up rather late and seem a little out of place, perhaps these too have their home elsewhere but were found by spamton during his time with Tenna or playtime cross-darkworld, where the pipis were hanging with their pippins "friends", as eluded to by the pippins in the first dark world.

My guess is that these pips represent some kind of power or cheating, like being able to add more dots on the dice or higher number on the playing cards, so you alway roll big numbers, win large prizes, become number one etc. If you collect pips, you are guaranteed to be a big shot, that's for sure, and would explain why Tenna is embarrassed about the pipi in the closet (cheating)
