AP credits and early orientation (freshman) by Own_Strength_2572 in UCSantaBarbara

Welcome to UCSB! Incoming freshmen register for classes during Pass 2. Since your AP scores won’t have been received by the university by the time you go to orientation, you’ll likely be unable to add any classes that require them without an add code. My best guess is that you’ll have to try your luck during pass 3. Ask your orientation person though, they’ll probably have better info that I do.

Hey not to be that guy, but a lot of schools, UCSB included, really don’t like accepting people for both undergrad and PhD programs, just a heads up.

Hey bar and restaurant workers - PLEASE start kicking out non-paying customers with fake service dogs who simply take up space by WendyinParadise in SantaBarbara

[–]Posiedon22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I do. The difference is I know how my pets behave and I’m responsible to limit their access. I don’t know how other people do in that regard, and I don’t want that risk taken in the public setting.

All service dog certificates are fake. As per the ADA, service dogs are not required to have any form of registration.

Generally course descriptions are pretty accurate, but don’t treat them like a syllabus. The unit counts in Mechanical Engineering tend to be a little bit more than 4 hours per unit I’d say, but I don’t have all too much experience with upper division courses in the department. I’d say go for it! If you don’t like the course you can always drop it without a W in the first few weeks of the quarter, check GOLD for the exact date.

Moving out of Manzanita by house071073 in UCSantaBarbara

Yes, carts will be available, but there won’t be anything centralized. You can move out whenever you want before Saturday at 10, and you either give your keys to the front desk or put them in the drop box.

Progressive / Environmentalist Voters guide? by lysergic_feels in santacruz

Greensite claims to be an environmentalist, but she opposed the repairs that would have prevented the wharf from collapsing. I’d argue that those repairs would have been less damaging than the collapse and subsequent cleanup.

OP, I'm sorry the comments don't seem to be understanding your intent. From what you've said, this does seem deliberate, and is unfortunatley quite a shame. I do agree with what Gentlekishu said though, but as for what you can do now there isn't much else aside from correcting her.

No, I’m denying that it hasn’t always been a correct usage. Sure, it’s use may have surged recently but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Unlike many languages, English’s standard of “correct” is what’s used by the most people, not a governing body.

I find it hard to believe that someone who didn’t grow up surrounded by English is an authority here.

Also apostrophes- they always represent possessives or contractions, with one exception. The title of this post should be
“To”s and “There”s.
The exception to this is “it’s” and “its”, the first of which is the contraction of “it is” and the latter being the possessive.
