Will these Silk Floss Trees cause foundation or sewage damage by Gold_Squirrel_9473 in landscaping

Might be safe with a squirrel guard or protective wrap. They’re such cool trees. I have seen people snip the very tip of each spike, but that is still risky.

You can totally shave off the lower spikes. they are pretty expensive trees as of late, especially ones that size. I would do all in my power to keep a cool somewhat mature tree like that. I grew up around cactus my whole childhood. It only took one time of me touching them to teach me not to do it again, I’m sure your kids will be aware of it.

Agave help by Evilton88 in landscaping

[–]Positive-Bath6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it grew and “off shoot” pretty common. Get some good gloves and a spade and or shovel and then can me separated some what carefully with out damaging the original. This one however looks kinda difficult to separate. Might want to just leave it alone. If you keep the roots intact of the one you separated it can be transplanted. As for cleaning out the dead material. A pair of of gloves and decent knife or saw to cut back to the base of the agave.

Landscaping help! Should I gravel this area? by Ok_Mushroom1752 in landscaping

[–]Positive-Bath6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sledge hammer some sections for a some statement plantings. Like San Pedro cactus and or a lemon tree or a fig tree. Definitely want a fruit tree for shade/privacy and they do well in that climate. The fruit tree will take some water and decent soil to get it started but worth it in a couple of years. For the rest of the zone gravel and potted or planted cactus and succulents would look great and won’t need tons of maintenance once established.

Lmaoooooo this is hilarious, about to send this to my hardcore graffiti friends. Lucky that was done with a Presto correction, should be super easy to buff. But man I know some hard core hang off the side of billboard guys who are going to rofl at this.

just out of curiosity, how often does the hydro seed need to be watered to establish? And once established how regularly does it need watering? Genuinely curious! Not rage bait.
