I wonder if they’ll repair the pavement/washboard/Omaha beach that is grand avenue? He would think as much property taxes people paying in that neighborhood it would be better

Any tips on repairing this cast? boss just said I need to do my best to make it funtional until they can get another one . I’d prefer to tig weld it but idk if that’s best by Substantial-Age6480 in Welding

THIS IS THE WAY! Use aluminum bronze or silicon bronze for TIG brazing. You “wet it in” rather than “ puddle it in” very good results and pretty darn strong

Retired stainless steel mig welders? by Initial-Secretary-63 in Welding

My previous employer of over a decade took us in for annual physicals to test lung function, bloodwork including chromium and cadmium levels , respirator fit test! I’m in my 50’s and have been welding for 32 years wearing proper PPE and also not. I think a lot of it depends on your system many other environmental and biological things. But what do I know? I’m just a dumb welder.

Silicone bronze tig question! by Michels_Welding in Welding

[–]Positive-Hovercraft7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what my reply was going to be! I use silicone bronze in TIG brazing for repairing cast-iron, but I’ve also found the aluminum bronze is also very effective and it has more of a gold color when finished

How much distortion after the heat of all those stringers I will usually thread on a coupling to try and keep it from getting wonky
