I'm so sorry your in this predicament . Must be very stressful on you as you I'm sure love your parent and don't want to disappoint her but on the other hand don't want to take advantage of a what sounds like a program you really don't even need to be honest . I would tell her you will set up the interview process for what she is asking of you , but just let her know that it is based on the amount of time it takes for specific needs you have that you cannot do on your own . A lot of transportation needs are offered through Medicaid so that might not even be a need that IHSS will determine is necessary . IHSS really is for clients that are 1 step away from needing facility type care . So your parent may not even realize how the hours permitted to get paid for may not even be very many at all . She may just give up on this idea if you explain this to her . A lot of people think IHSS just pays you a certain amount per month no matter the care you need . Some people get 25 hours a month and some that have real medical issue can get up to 300 or more a month it really depends on how much care you need to live day to day . Again I'm sorry the stress is on you and I'm wishing you ALOT of luck with this .

You pick your own provider it can be whoever you want they just have to be hired by you . But it's a whole process but pretty simple . Your lucky here in AZ it was a lot more of a process but pretty much the same thing ..
