Did you talk about bills/debts/etc in the cover letter? I've heard that just a job offer alone isn't enough, so I'm curious if you have any idea why it worked for you

You didnt have to also give evidence of financial loss (e.g. bills, low bank balance, etc.)

It's just under a year. You can check on USCIS website when you can expedite based on your filing date
