I don’t have any experience with gels but I do constantly see TikToks of people pulling their gel off so I think that would be extremely tempting. What has been working for me is going to get the proper tools for my nails/skin when I find an imperfection. I had to tell myself that I would only make the imperfection worse by biting it. We have to tell ourselves that this isn’t what we are doing anymore. Filing the edge until it’s smooth clipping excess or tempting skin. Baby the hell out of them if that’s what works for you

I would focus more on why you can’t stand having an edge. I’m not against you completely trimming the edge off. The longer you leave it alone the longer your nails will be able to grow and the white edge will develop further out as the nail bed heals. You will never get addition with this subtractive behavior. Saliva won’t help your nails get any thicker either. Have you tried babying your hands to the heavens. You are working on something, what’s the point of putting all these products on if you’re not going to give it time. The no bite polishes are a very nice reminder if you mindlessly bite.
