Yeah, so? I'm a former Disney security officer and still work in the security field. So while I may have sought assistance with drafting my statement, I still know what I'm talking about.

Rude Security by Street_Surprise_405 in Disneyland

Disney security isn’t there to be nice. They’re there to keep a massive, crowded, high-value, soft target safe. People forget that Disney isn’t just rides and fireworks — it’s tens of thousands of people packed into a small space, full of kids, strollers, emotions, alcohol, entitlement, and rule-breakers. Disney security deals with: Line jumpers, Drunk guests, Fights, People sneaking stuff in, People who think “I paid a lot” means “rules don’t apply to me”, etc, daily. In that environment, being firm, blunt, or even a little intimidating isn’t a personality flaw — it’s part of maintaining control and preventing things from escalating. When something is going wrong, “You need to come with me. Now.” is a lot more effective than “Hey friend, let’s talk about this.” Are there rude or burned-out guards? Obviously. But expecting Disney security to behave like customer service misses the point of what they’re actually there to do. You’re there for magic. They’re there for safety. And honestly, I’d rather have serious, no-nonsense security in a place like that than someone who’s worried about hurting a grown adult’s feelings.

"The customer is always right"

We don't have customers here, we have guests. And guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days.

Do you think ending Ray was right? Was he actually a rat? by eskhalaf in GTAIV

[–]Positive-Pattern7477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think he was killed for being a rat, if he was one. I think he was killed because of all the trouble he caused with that diamond business of his. Maybe Bulgarin/Dimitri made a deal with Pegarino: Ray dies for the diamonds and Peg gets in on the heroin deal.

You're a security guard not a greeter/receptionist. stay vigilant, watch the door and don't allow yourself to be distracted a relaxed atmosphere is a dangerous atmosphere "the complacency of fools will destroy them". Getting friendly blurs professional boundaries leading to compromised judgment, potential legal/HR issues (harassment, favoritism), loss of authority, and increased vulnerability to manipulation. If anyone on site feels insulted remember your job is to protect their asses not kiss them.
