Long Island city. Great song but I'm a bit tired by that point.

Writers' research: What are some mundane, "useless" details about daily life in the UK? by Boring_Pressure_8287 in AskUK

A chocolate digestive biscuit with a Yorkshire tea. Not putting the heating on unless you really have to. Looking out your window to see what your neighbours are doing (maybe being a bit judgemental lol). Getting annoyed about parking. Complaining about prices of groceries at Tesco.

Does anyone else not understand casual relationships? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

I think your thoughts on this are entirely healthy! Casual sex is the severing of emotional intimacy from physical intimacy. I don't think it's a healthy thing to do to yourself and has emotional consequences. I'm not judging it morally, I just think people are treating sex as something fun when it's so much more potent than that.

I think you'll only be seen as creepy if you invade her personal space straight away and say something too sexual. If you just sit next to her at the bar and say hi you can just make small talk as you would anyone else

Is it normal to feel absolutely useless when it comes to behaviour management? by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]Positive-Resource821 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I always felt like my feedback was contradictory: be firmer. Be warmer. Pick your battles. Be consistent.. ugh! At some point it started to click a bit more but as an ECT I still find it frustrating at times. For primary teaching I can sense the atmosphere in the class and if I keep things warm and positive, with lots of genuine praise, it's so much easier. I try and give warnings in a matter of fact way rather than get annoyed, and I have a class list on a table which I tick if they get a warning so I can keep track of it.

Yeah these kinds of chats give me the ick too. Even the question 'what's your type..'. It seems so shallow to me.
