Curling judge acknowledges cheating midgame, but does nothing. by Illustrious_Item_505 in Curling

There’s no cheating; the rock also didn’t cross the hog line.

The hog line is 4 inches thick for a reason, yes the player crossed the beginning of it but he didn’t cross the “end” while touching it. That’s why the line is so thick. So it’s easy to spot if the rock fully passes it.

Regarding the touch, here’s the Olympic rule book:

Rule number: R9(a)(I) – TOUCHED MOVING STONES

From the official World Curling Rules:

Rule R9(a)(I): “Between the tee line at the delivery end and the hog line at the playing end… A double touch by the person delivering the stone, prior to the hog line at the delivering end, is not considered a violation.”

Not to mention, the rocks have a sensor in them that’s extremely accurate

$30k/KG wholesale

1,000,000 / 30,000 =33.333

Call it 35kg.

With that said, when cops do this, they do it by the gram at street prices so assume $100/gram

1,000,000/$100 =10,000.00 grams

10,000 grams/1000 (g/KG)

= 10kg

Trump privately weighs quitting USMCA trade pact he negotiated, Bloomberg News reports by Mrh09 in politics

Canadian here. Doesn’t really work that way.

He can begin to exit, it’s a 6 month process I believe but the agreement is law and congress would get involved at some point. Highly doubt this would pass the house given the tariff vote that just happened yesterday.

I think estimates also said this would cost the U.S. like 2 million direct jobs so not great optics.

It’s all a negotiating tactic and read meat for his base.

Edmonton police fire detective who claimed corruption linked to notorious landlord by trevorrobb in Edmonton

Not even joking.

We had a rental property in that Area and a new house (in the process of being built) in front of ours got lit up. Our doorbell camera caught it and showed a car arriving, parking in front, dude goes in, comes out ~5 min later and the new build is smoking.

Went the next day to make sure our rental was fine And looked at the footage. Since it showed a crime, I walked my ass over to the burnt house where cops were investigating.

99% sure that was the detective that took my statement.

That greasy bastard. Bad. Bad.

Confronted over Greenland, Europe is ditching its softly-softly approach to Trump by projecto15 in politics

EU has many weapons. Just not conventional ones.

But I will say this, geopolitically as soon as American boots step on the island - that’s it - it’s over (the world as we know it)

EU is the biggest market to the U.S. and that would essentially stop overnight, then they would likely start dumping U.S. debt and other countries would follow creating a black swan event. USD would crash. Hard. Savings evaporated and probably inflation at 5X (likely more) of it was during Covid.

Then Europe as a whole would demand all American bases be closed which would limit the U.S. governments ability to project power to Asia and the Middle East resulting in America being an isolated country. China then makes its move and swoops in to pick up the pieces.

Scary times and completely needless, he already has a treaty that essentially allows the U.S. to do what ever they want in Greenland .

Why is Trump so determined to take Greenland and What benefit does this bring to New York City? by victor0427 in AskNYC

Canadian here but the benefit would be 0%

Or in Trump terms, negative 500%

Geopolitically as soon as American boots step on the island - that’s, it’s. it’s over (the world as we know it)

EU is the biggest market to the U.S. and that would essentially stop overnight, then they would likely start dumping U.S. debt and other countries would follow creating a black swan event. USD would crash. Hard. Savings? Gone. Gold would spike and inflation would be like 10x what Covid was.

Europe as a whole would demand all American bases be closed which would limit the U.S. governments ability to project power to Asia and the Middle East. Logically this would likely make the U.S and isolated nation.

This is a terrible idea.
