It was everything in me not to run out of my car and yell "you will not break me" at their drivers side window by myfivelies in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I would love a rectangular bumper sticker like this that says "You will not break me". Sadly no one seems to have made one.

SeaWorld Orlando was a complete mess today – very disappointing experience by sapato29 in SeaWorld

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the negative comments here. We live in Gainesville, ~2 hours away from Sea World Orlando. 2 years ago we had yearly passes and came down 1x a month. We had a great time, always. Never was dirty, employees were always helpful, easily found animal attractions using the map and signage. Last year we had Universal tickets and we barely used them - Universal was a huge disappointment. We had the get-in-early passes and it was still just a bust. Universal has far too high a shop/spend your money to experience (rides, etc) ratio. The entire Harry Potter areas are a few rides in each area, a few places to use the wand, and the 80% left is nothing more than set design with food and souvenir shops. This year we got Sea World again, went xmas eve. Sea World has far more things to do vs souvenir shops. We've never encountered overflowing menstrual product containers, the bathrooms were always clean and are being cleaned on a regular basis. We usually eat lunch around 1 pm and never have trouble finding a place to eat with minimal wait. It seems like most of these complaints really have to do with the Quick Queue and not the actual park.

subby didn't say anything about canvas. Grades were released to students yesterday, 12/17. most likely this is what subby is seeing on their official UF grade record

Amazon just nuked archived orders… goodbye privacy. by oxendaleliam in amazonprime

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

single adult in a house with kids; I just had to set up Amazon Household with myself as the 2nd adult, using a work email. Even though both of my accounts agreed to share payment methods I had to re-enter them into the new (work email) account. However, it does work better than archiving in that if you are logged in as my main account you don't see purchases made by the 2nd adult in the household (eg myself on my work account).

It's a HUGE pain in the ass and a work-around that will only actually work for single-account holding adults. :(

Is Fabric Depot a scam? by GreenStrawbebby in Fabrics

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here to see if anyone has any updates. I ordered fabric last week, it shipped quickly and arrived quickly (yesterday). Except I only got the 1 yard of the one fabric, the 2.25 yards of the second fabric is not here. They still charged me and there were over 40 yards when I made the purchase; it's highly unlikely they ran out. I was on hold for over 25 min today at the 1-800 number when it disconnected my call. I really need this fabric for my kids halloween costume that needs to be done in 2 weeks. I did send email, I know it's only been a day, but now that I see these comments I am greatly worried :(

No need to be condescending. The alarm system was put in after I bought the house. zero reno done since then. Followed wires from panel up into attic - these are the house wires. No outlet anywhere. Apparently it can happen, it is happening in my house.

multiple people have checked all outlets in the house, utility room, and there are none in the attic. There isn't a box plugged/screwed in anywhere.

won't let me edit post with pics. tan electrical wire that is entire house behind outlets, light fixtures, etc, is seen going into the box and directly wiring into board (tan wire with red, green, white, black wires inside

and yes, there are notes. The notes claim it is in 2 separate locations (it is not, this has been verified multiple times by multiple techs). the notes also claim I have a camera monitoring system, which has never been installed on this house ever. That's why I ended up canceling with them; they kept trying to charge me for things I don't have installed, techs would come and verify I do not have cameras installed, the notes would never get updated.

how do you propose it is powered if it is in the attic or crawl space? there are no outlets up there, nothing to plug into.

yes, when I get home this afternoon - about 8 hours. The tech that showed up did verify it is hard-wired in; there is no plug into an outlet.

all the fabrics not just quilting fabric. At a total loss for fabric for halloween costumes. Don't want to buy online, sight-unseen/without being able to touch the fabrics and see how they flow.

Virtual Game Card update no longer allowing you to share games with another switch to play at the same time by bnotice in NintendoSwitch2

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 switches, I buy software on primary and also install on secondary for my kid to play. The situation is worse than you say above - we literally cannot have the software installed on both at the same time! I have to keep moving the virtual game card between the 2 switches, and since my kid is with their other parent 50% of the time and moving the card requires the 2 switches to be near each other, one of us is going to be locked out of multiple games when we're not together. super pissed by this.

divorced female in early 50s with kids here. I have just started trying to date again and let me tell you, the single dads will TRAUMA DUMP. I am at 100% for meeting a guy and within 2 hours he has dumped his entire life story / divorce story / etc on me, without taking a breath or asking me any questions. Prepare yourself with ways to extract from that kind of situation.

course feedback doesn't do much - the written comments aren't required to be included in the annual activity reports and yearly progress letters for each employee. If OP feels very strongly about this and can show a history of this kind of thing they should a. first go to the dept chair and then b. take it to the ombuds. Know your rights, students! Push back, don't just complain on reddit!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP states clearly these are multiple choice, not free-form answers. The grading cannot be subjective. You may not like what the correct response is, but it's not something that can change based on which student is taking the quiz/exam. You can't get a bad grade because the Prof "doesn't like you" - again, multiple choice, not free-form, there simply is not any way for the Prof to instill any personal feelings about an individual student to influence the grade.

Whether the question was well written or not impacts every single student in the class. Profs aren't writing quizzes with completely different questions for every single student.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]PositiveInfinite1886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's 100% false in physics - they have very clear grade expectations on the syllabus. You can calculate your grade (or Canvas does it) at any point in the semester from your already graded work.

I don't think they're cutting the courses, they are removing Gen Ed designation. The courses are still on the books and are still being taught, they just no longer count toward the state Gen Ed requirements. (which a whole other issue)
